Forget this piece of sh... Got one for a pusher plank and it is so far out of balance that it cannot be run past half throttle, makes zero power and all the mounting hardware as per picture was not with it in the box.

Power isnt really the critical part, its the power to weight ratio, my latest motor choice weighs just 25gr and produces 230 ish watts.

It should perform well in my sub 300gr heli.

I can't help but be curious. The motor is rated for 2S, but judging from the comments on the HK site, it can be used with a 3S battery as well. How do you approximate it's power output on 3S? I know that Watts equal Amps X Volts, but the HK site only lists its max current on 2S. I noticed they list the weight at 29g. Do you have one and have you weighed it?

What are you doing about a pinion gear? Seems like 2.4mm is an unusual shaft size. Looks like it comes with 2 or 3 pinions. Probably 0.4 modulus?

Sorry for all the questions, I'm always looking for alternatives.

I've not tested it personally but i have it on good advice that is its output on 3s.
I've not weighed this motor yet either but the HK site listed weights are garbage or is an overall weight of the motor, connectors, heat shrink and 2 large brass pinions included.

The HK site also has the shaft diameter wrong, its a standard 2.3mm.
The included pinions arent of any use in the 250 but HK list a few for the foxbat heli that are correct.

I'll try and get a confirmation of the weight for you soon.

Looks like the 1 time i wanted HK to have the weight wrong they have in fact got it right.

This motor weighs in at 28.5gr and my chosen pinion is 0.5gr, a little heavier than id hoped for but still lighter than the scorpion 3900 and the stock align motor by 3.1gr and 5.0gr respectively not including the pinion.

while disappointed i think a 3-5gr weight saving is still significant.

The true question is how does it perform?

To determine the power, you would have to get a motor with the highest watts, the higher the watts the higher the power. But don't forget the weight of your heli. It's the same principle as a car, power to weight ratio. There's a lot of motors with high wattages. I've got the 3900kv scorpion(150 watts), it's good enough, but I also have a 220 watts motor, both on 3S. There are motors out there that can go upto 350 watts, but they tend to be more on the piggy side. Find the motor with the highest watts, without compromising the weight.

Brandon,
I replied to your post in my Visitor Messages and also sent you a PM with some info that may help.
This is what I know ;
Scorpion did produce a HK2208-series motor for the Gaui 200 and I believe this was prior-to the newer 2206-series that work well in the T-Rex 250-series of Helis.
The 2208-series that was for the Gaui was a 2S designated motor (I want to say it was 4100kv. (?)) but I do know of (1) HF-Member (snjbird) that was running his on 3S and it was extremely-powerful (and still a Flybar'd set-up).

To the best-of my knowledge the motor you have pictured is for an Align T-Rex 450 (?) as I see that there are more available pinions for that application.
I did send you the link for the Xtreme Production 14T. pinion (highest tooth-count that I know-of for a 3.17mm shaft)

As far as the "Most-Powerful" I do see that there have been a few-posts to help with this (wattage and pwr-to weight) and I'm thinking that there are quite-a-few more options to go with now then there were when I originally-purchased my first HK2206-3900kv. Scorp.
I will probably try to find another HK2208-4100kv. (like snjbird's set-up) at some point and go with very-strong C-rated (860mAh) packs.
Either-way I have found that my KonTroniks Mini-Jazz 20A esc has worked flawlessly.

This is original designed for 300, not 250. Mounting maybe an issue ....
