I just noticed under the info for the prop, it says popular brushless tail rotor used on MCP X. I wonder who else is using this thing. Other than Roffey, I dont recall any other people using it on any sort of BL tail work.

Its because I called Dave this morning looking for the prop, and he asked me what I was doing with it, I told him and he said he was going in to re label the use of the prop, so there you go

I ordered from him as well, and spoke with him about pinions, nice guy.

I was not trying to scare anybody away from dealing with him.

My point was- his inventory must be manually updated, unless he has 9000 in stock.

I am sure if he does not have them in stock he will make it right.

His shipping sure is reasonable, and fast delivery, even this time of year.

Has anyone tried this on an HP05. Everyone has more powerful motors. Is this too much for an HP05?

This prop is working perfectly on my hp05s with 120SR tail. It is far better than the sr120 prop or any other setup i have tried. I'm very happy with the tail now.

It seems that we have finally found the ultimate tail upgrade for brusheless converted mCP X
At least until something good comes from experiments on the brushless tail.

I ordered 4 of these tails.

Having said that, I just completed a brushless setup with a spin motor, and currently have a 120 tail cut down to 50mm on it. It seems to hold great. What's a good way to test how effective it is? It will only kick at 100%TC (with a 9T pinion, which is too much head speed anyway), and even then the kick is barely noticeable.

This is surprising considering the tail is quite heavy. I'm running a 3mm cf tube, astroid straight mount, and an el diabolo fin. It holds very well. Better than any tail I've had on any of my c05m builds. I'm running a flat 70% tc.

Just ordered some of these tri turbo tail blades. Ill let you know how they go when they show up. It was only $9 so meh. I have a hp05s and a sr120 tail. Atm after 3 lipos or so the tail does weird things and has a mind of its own.

Can someone give me a direct link to these wonder props? I looked at some previous post and couldn't find them. I broke my final prop for my SR120 tail motor on Friday and need a few replacements.

Thanks,

Craig

Default Got my props in!

Ultra quick shipping from RadicalRC!

Got to test the prop out today. I ended up going with the reversed motor and rotor setup (Aka Tractor Mode as Liftbag calls it). All I can say is WOW!!

I previously have been using the 4G3 Prop on a 138mm Long boom. I would still get partial blowout on some collective, and the smallest big of wag during rudder maneauvers. Held pretty well for the most part, but still not perfect or ideal in alot of cases

Now this new prop and reversed motor configuration is amazing! Im using HP05S+9T+xp7A+Hyp 550+145mm Boom length. I did the most extreme pitch pumps I could and this thing does not budge at all! Its almost strange to watch it stay in the same heading...almost blew my mind! There was zero wag that I saw, and it held like a champ threwout my entire flight using Hyp 550. Rudder movement seemed smooth and crisp from what I saw.

Honestly this seems like the end all of tail setups for me. Big shout out for Dylan and Liftbag for the reversed "tractor" Idea. Can't wait to test this on the Spin 16,300 setup!

I'm not very happy with radical. I ordered mine on Sat and now they are out and I have to wait two weeks for a new shipmnt. Glad you are happy with yours though and I look forward to trying it out.

When you flip the motor around should the propeller be spinning cw or ccw?

I just got a return email from radical rc saying there out of stock and I will have to wait two weeks as well, not to happy about that. It should say out of stock on the site like all the others do. Otherwise I would not of put an order in with them.

Whats this about having to reverse the tail? Do we have to switch it to the other side for this tri turbo tail prop to work do we? Do we need to reverse the spin of the tail motor as well?

It spins in its correct CCW rotation. When looking at the rotor mounted on the motor you should see the Matte finish (Shiny V3 prop finish on the back with a slotted portion in the Center Hub that goes twords the motor).

Charging more batts as we speak to get more testing in.

The reversing method is because its actually a "Tractor" type propellor as opposed to a "Push" type propeller. Also If you mount the Prop in the regular orientation, you will need to reverse your wire polarity. Basically you will not be running the motor in its "correct" rotation. No real answers as to if this is bad or not, more so speculation.

Regardless I am more than Happy with the "Tractor" style reverse orientation. Only reason I reversed is because I know how finicky and crappy these 120SR motors are so Id rather run the correct rotation.I have not tried the normal orientation at all, but Liftbag says its flies just as well.
