well, assembly is going great. i've got it all done except for linkages. servos motor all installed. I'm using futaba 9252's on the swash, and a 601 gyro. I also got the align 4400 6s2p battery to go along with it. I have to go pick up some servo horns after school, then I'll finish it all up tonight, get all the wiring perfect, and first flight's will be tomarrow morning before work. hopefully i'll be able to fly it twice.

King Kong,

The futaba 9252 dont support 6v. What are you going to be using to power them? Because the align bec puts out 6v.

Thanks.

Its regulated 6v. There is alot of people running 9252's on 6v regulators with no problems. The problem comes in when you run 5cell rx packs because they will peak out around 7volts.

Bullet and the blue connectors you see in bob's video come pre solderded to the motor, battery, and speed control

Apperently the white skids are supposed to be the 3d skids. they're lower than the black. Better be careful though. if you have the wrong skids on, the heli might not flip and roll rignt

Thanks for the heads up on the servos. I'm looking into it right now. I know andy is running the 611 fine with the regulator, but i need to double check everything. Can't afford to burn up my servos.

I think you're right skew, i think i should be ok.

Skew, ok I was just looking at the specs thats all. Thats why I looked at the 9451, it supports 6v, its faster, more torque, and the same price as 9252. Are the 9252 older model servos?

Thanks

ouch. hey, i have a job and go to school. and don't fortet. I don't crash big helis. it just dosn't happen. I'll let ya know how first flights go in the morning.

I did have to make a few adjustments. I had to drill out the tail wire supports, so the rod would fit through, and the links were a little off in the head. but that was it. it's all done now. The scariest part was plugging in the battery to the charger. Now i have to plug it into the speed control

I have never built a heli n a day even ones that come ready to fly.... Sorry call me anal but it's gotta be right and that includes the little things a lot of people toss out! Like wiring, proper setup, etc....

I am not trying to pick on Frank (king kong) but while he is learning to fly and advancing beyond me, his building skills should also improve... Frank yes I am picking on you as I think they DO need to get better... It's part of being in the hobby! It's not JUST improving your flying ya know..

Have you ever seen me crash because of a heli failure? NOT!

I know, it prob took me about 11hrs+ to get done. Everythings perfect on it though. really took my time. I'm scared of it.

hmm, last time i crashed due to a falure was when i was first learning. had just moved up from my eco 8 to a logo 10, and thought i was the shizit. kept having lockout problems. steve and ian couldn't help me figure it out, so after like the 3rd time i ditched it and got my rappy 50. Now the only falures i get are the brain to thumb falures. only on my t-rex though, and i can't seem to figure those one's out

I spend WAY more time configuring helis than I do flying them.

That's why I suck at flying.

well i took it out this morning. the thing was absolutely perfect. no trim, no tracking nothing. I can't believe how stable it is. it's better than the x-spec i had. this thing flys AWSOME.
