Georgi,
I am reading this right? Are you guys saying that if when I turn on my SL feature and the heli goes left, I need to have the 720 recalibrated????

=] Jay hi, no I'm not saying that! if the heli has previously been flown drift free but over time has a tendency to wander, this is when we will use it.

Ok, I noticed while in a hover if I switch on the SL the heli goes left. What do you think?

Update on my leveling issue.
Skookum had me remove the 720 and place it on the level bench surface just like georgi describes. However they just wanted me to record a playback log. From that they could tell my accelerometers were accurate. But they noticed that my gyro was slightly off and it can cause a drift durring self level. I don't have the software to recalibrate gyros and accelerometers so I'm sending it back in. I assume that others don't either but figured it may help shed some light on possible causes. |

I unplugged all of the cables except the power supply coming from the battery/ regulator and one satelite receiver. They had me record several seconds with it rightside up and then several upside down.
Something that I wasn't aware of is the Self Level feature is dependant on the gyros as well as the accelerometers. With all of the previous threads and discussion about the accelerometers, I assumed that they were the only source of direction in the self level mode. What is amazing to me is how the Skookum guys can determine the status of the gyros and accelerometers from the playback logs. It is already impressive that we have access to so much through the data viewer. But to remotely diagnose a unit still blows my mind! |
