Swash movements again
Went out to fly the 500 last night and couldn't because the swash plate was oscilating in a circle tried spooling it up a bit and it didn't calm down so I parked it and flew my 600 instead
But I was reading the post this morning on this section and someone was talking about temps and there effect on FM so I took My heli outside and let it sit for 10 minutes and then powered the heli up and the swash was no longer oscilating and I had a nice flight the only problem I am having now is the elevator is bouncing up and down cant figure this out the elevator gain is just about shut off one more click and it will be. Still trying to figure this thing out . and it is not stabilizing the heli anyone have an idea on the tail bounce ? |

First check your HS...too slow and you'll get the tail bouncing up and down

Yes that was my first thought also but without FM on board there is no tail bounce
But I have ordered a tach to check it out and make absolutely sure of it that headspeed is where it is suppost to be will let everyone know again thanks for your thought's on this you guys are awsome |

Also check the gyro mounting, if the gyro is able to rock it can cause this problem.
Secure it with a velcro strap. |

With your first description about the swash oscillating it may be that FM 3X gyro unit is slightly faulty, for me that was certainly the case, a while ago, after a very harsh crash landing. You can try and pack it internally with some foam of the packing of the box it came in.

just foam! i haven't looked at the gyro yet, but have some tail wag when i use nanotech lipo, it has higher head speeds and i think vib surely is the cause, in time the wag vanishes when i have drained the lipo abit!
it does not get cold here, so im sure it has to be vibrations in the gyro! thanks pril250 |

what packs do you use, we only have locally generic type that dont last long lol, but i observed it not to heat up like generic ones!
about the candle, i remember the hk401b was fixed with hot glue, some filled the whole thing with hot glue, well the topic is concern with temp, just went into my mind about candles, it is a good temp insulator, and will hold like hot glue! anyway i would go for foam your right! |

I just used the foam from the flymentor box it came in. I just opened mine back up this week and soldered shorter leads to it and repacked the gyro. The issue isn't about temps when using wax but about the transmission of vibes. Foam works. And how would you ever get the other stuff back out again if you had problems?
And unlike Pril I have had great luck with turnigy batts. I no longer use them on my cp's since going 6s but I still use them on another app. In fact I just received the nano2200 for it. Also try some zeal tape to mount your gyro. There is a thread on it here and the stuff really works. You no longer need the velcro strap when using it.
