Hobby Shop Burglary and Theft
My local hobby store was broke into on 10-22-12 and thieves managed to get somewhere in the neighborhood of $25 to 30 grand in helis, planes, telescopes, batteries and electronics as well as store laptops. Store is located in Eastern AZ.
I was reluctant to posting this on heli-freak because I believe that sites like this, runryder, etc are great places to sell off this stolen property, not to mention ebay and I was watching and hoping for a post to appear. Now I think its a good idea to get the word out. Catching this scumbag(s) is what we are after and the hobby shop has offered up a reward for info leading to arrest. They got away with alot of helis, (40+) mostly small stuff. The website for the hobby shop is here and it has a downloadable pdf file of what was taken. Your help in keeping an eye out is appreciated.

Just downloaded the list... it's flippin' huge! They must have been in there awhile!
I'm in California, and I'm always checking Craigslist for helicopter deals in a 100 mile range from my location, so I'll try to keep an eye out. |

Holy molly. Must have been several people. What shame. A business trying to make a decent living and a low life(s) take it all.
Wish i knew who it was. You can keep the reward. I would just like to see the sorry a$$es in jail.

Ive been to shops in Phoenix and Albuquerque and my local shop is the most well stocked, clean and good looking out of all of them. Bill has done a good job with his store and no it wasnt delivery day, just stock on hand getting ready for the holiday rush.
You never some some dumb ass crook might actually try and post stuff online to sell but otherwise I cannot imagine how one get rid of it other than at a swap meet.

No alarms? No cameras? They had to have been in there for minimum 30 minutes to grab all that stuff. Perhaps a minivan to load it all into. I am amazed if this store had no alarms or cameras as that type of security is cheap these days.
Hope they catch the guys !

Yea, no security system of any sort. Its a beautiful store and someone took advantage. scumbag theives. Yes they had to have plenty of time to browse while they stole. People like this need their balls cut off. I cannot stand thieves. Usually go hand in hand with tweakers of which I cannot stand either.
Just if you all can, keep your eyes open. If you see something you can PM me or call the hobby shop.

I live in AZ. I will keep an eye out. Holy crap that is a lot of stuff! With that much stuff and the amount of time they spent gathering it all, the folks might have been there before to get an idea of where everything was at. Also to check out the security system.
You can get security camera's cheaply now a days. With night vision. Hope these folks are found!

This seems a little weird to me. If they managed to get away with all that in like others posted a van or a uhaul, something is amiss. No one in their right mind would break into a store or whatever and be in there for long periods of time. Its always get in and get out. If there was no security system, that would then give the robbers reason to stay a while. First question would be, how would they know there was no security? Sounds like it may be an inside job or with inside help.

Must of had a truck, or made multiple trips. Someone must have these guys on camera. Check nearby stores, banks, atm machines, grocery stores ... anyone that might have a camera facing the street.
Hate to say this too, but this sounds like the person was probably familiar with the store. Who else would know they could spend so much time pull stuff out. Hope you find these M-Fers ASAP. Next time you hide a few of these in some choice items.

The location of the store, access to the rear door and being able to park back there without any type of security system is what gave the robbers the time they needed. Absolutely the shop had to be cased before hand.

well if you read about any lipo fires thats probably them with all those lipos they took... but ya this seems a lil fishy like an insurance scam or just one really clueless store owner...hobby shops are always a target.
