I just picked up a Trex 550E from a friend.

I removed the stock head and upgraded to a Compass head (with TracX drive tubes). This was a very quick conversion as it had previously been FBL. All I had to do was to swap the head, install and set up the AR7200BX, and install the KBDD 84.5 EE Tail Blades.

No problem hitting the "Blue Light" on Step J of the BeastX Setup Menu.

I will take photos soon.

I just test hovered it in the back yard earlier (five minute break from work)-SWEET!

Photographs of the Trex550E (now TracX 550E) with upgraded head and KBDD EE Tail Blades:

Next to it is Blade 130X, upgraded with KBDD Main and Tail Blades!

Thank you sir!

This one preceded that one by about a month, but I did not get photographs until now.

This is an Odin II, converted to FBL via the 7HV head:

I ended up using TracX Drive Tubes (the longest of the Compass links) in order to get the head as high as possible (have about 6.25" between the blade tip and the boom).

The machine has also been upgraded to KBDD EE 112mm Tail Blades. The Boom is so long, that there is, essentially, no chance of interference between the main blade tips and the tail rotor.

It has one, short test hover, so far. It felt very locked in. The BeastX is still set on defaults, so I have some tuning to do.

The BeastX mount was cast from JB Weld epoxy, in place, on the radio tray, up front.

It should get flown this week, so that performance can be assessed.

I expect it to be a pretty nimble machine.

This one's from rotor fest this year. I was buzzing around at 1300rpm when this was taken. Surreal sound.....or lack of it really. No wobbles at all, only swapping to 6s.

Nope...never going to live that down.

So I might as well just roll with it and do it next time inverted

Eyeballing the E5 to make it a E5-S. All my 600EFL stuff would get shoved into it and that includes the Compass head

As for the EFL, Align came out with an updated belt tail case so back to belt. My TT decided to die from a angry tech wipe sitting on the bench during a test Good news is I've tried my best to cause the tail to slip to no avail. Here in the Compass section looking for the best anti-stat procedures

Sorry for the late reply.. didnt know there was a thread on it.

YES I have it on my Vibe.. and flies like a beauty!

Its not a straight drop as far as I could do. very slight moding.. The swash balls on Vibe are too loose for this head. So used Gaui swash balls and I think XCELL 2.5mm swash plastic links.. on the stock head with the head installed on the higher hole (head lower) .. and

Swash had to be highered for zero pitch. Running with Beastx .. geometry came out perfect.

Default Machines Have You Converted to Compass/TracX Heads-Post Your Photographs!

I just realized thanks to Jason that the mods in have had to do were because I was running too short links

Never knew that the tracx 50 size was longer links than the others

Ordering more now.. That might actually fix my issues of where you see the gap between the swash link and Delrin arm

Man! More ways to love tracx lol

The TracX Drive Tubes are 5mm longer than the Compass Drive Tubes, if that helps.

There should be no exposed threads. Unlike some of the later attempts to copy the head, the Drive Tubes are recessed to support the shank of the ball link, so the threaded portion of the link does not handle all of the bending loads.

When I converted the Odin, I ended up cutting a 7HV main rotor shaft to length, keeping the swashplate at its original height, and using the length of the TracX Drive Tubes to determine where to cut the shaft, if that makes sense.

Also did this on the Kyosho Caliber 700.

Only issue there is that, if I crack up the Odin or the Caliber, I will have to make another custom main shaft (worth it to get the performance, though).

I take my previous statement back that Vibe needs mods for the TRACX head.

I just recieved the new .50 size arms for my tracx and they are a STRAIGHT fit to the JR swash.

I am even more impressed. The length is perfect.. and the ball link size is too!

This is gonna make it better. I bet I was seeing some phasing because of the pastic links not going into delrin

This is exciting ( for me)

Gaba,

OUTSTANDING, SIR!

"I just received the new .50 size arms for my tracx and they are a STRAIGHT fit to the JR swash."

I take it by arms, you are referring to the longer drive tubes, sir?
