Marketing!!

I think that FL heads are easier to market as "great" over DFC heads, but then again Align markets DFC heads just fine as "simpler".

Goblins and Bert K are all about marketing, don't get me started.

So all in all, it just comes down to personal preference. My 1 cent.

Looks like the standard "super power" motor to me. The dominator motors actually say dominator.

So they anodized a few parts red on the old FBL head and call it new? Nice In that case I have a "new" FBL head that I pulled off my 600EFL Pro that I bought in 2012. Who wants to pay top dollar for it??

I see it's the "Next Generation model with Explosive performance and attractiveness!"

http://shop.align.com.tw/product_inf...oducts_id=5304

in this particular kit, Align did not anodized anything red... if not the Reinforcement Brace, which was anyway red from the beginning.
+ it is powered with 750mx, which is more explosive than 600mx I guess.
anyhow... this is still not what we are waiting for. not the Dominator in 600 size.

Sorry, I was talking about the "new" 600FL Flybarless Rotor Head System, not that kit.

Guys,
I've asked Align customer service about the T-REX 600 Dominator release, the answer from Align is below.

Hi,

I would like to know if a new TREX 600 Dominator will be released soon?

I hesitate over bying the current TREX 600E Pro DFC or wait a little and buy your new monster!

Thank you in advance.

Answer from Align

Hi Thomas,

Thank you for choosing Align.

The T-REX 600E will soon be available, so please keep eyes on Align website and Align cart constantly,
we will announce all about Align latest movement and products information on there.

Align webpage: http://www.align.com.tw/alignhtml/EN/index.php

I think they misunderstood the question. The 600E is already available but is getting a slight update with the new Gpro FBL unit (see post a few above for proof) this must be the new '600E' model they are referring to

The Dominator series are not designated by the 'E' suffix but instead by 'L'... so if they were talking about a 600 Dominator they would have called it a '600L'.

I think you're right Grumpy_Old_Man, they were talking about the 600E model but not the 600L...
BUT they invited me to see the latest news on their webpage, FB and cart whereas the new 600E model is already available on Align cart.
Strange

Maybe they just put up a smokescreen to avoid what we are doing NOW: speculations

Red is the new blue it would seem. Personally I prefer clear anodized natural aluminum it just looks classier.

With the recent release of the 500L Dominator, the 600L must be next in line. I'm hoping the the 600L will be a bigger step up than what the 500L was to the 500 DFC. I'd also like to see it released before the holiday season. It will make the perfect gift for someone like me, who is looking to step up from their 500. Keeping my fingers crossed.

If the 500 is any indication they will change the head and call it the 600L

Do you have an opinion of that head? I like the DFC head for its simplicity, but I think it's hard on the servos.

Blah...I'm tired of all the Align "upgrades". Over 1000 flights later my 600EFL Pro with KDE XT head flies incredibly. Who needs these fake upgrades....

I run efl on all my other helis. I prefer efl, as it's easier on the servos in general. I also like the decreased chance of blade strike. Able to run lower headspeeds...does nothing for me. I love that "razors edge" feel that only comes when I crank the headspeed up

me too. i think align should settle for a while. this dominator change, however, is a real breakthrough and i welcome it. i hope align will keep this design untouchable for years, just like mikado does with their logos.

lower hs means you are able to fly the same way with less power and saving you batteries. i like this idea. to me it is also easier to fly a lighter heli in general. in the strong wind i find heavier helis nicer to fly, though.

The heli doesn't feel the same at lower headspeeds. I have a mini protos. Ungoverned it is geared for 4000rpm beginning of pack. It's currently governed to 3400rpm. Trust me, I can fly a lot harder and more aggressively at 4000 than 3400. With that said at 3400 it is pretty capable and I can do the same maneuvers I just have to do them differently. Tic tocs for example, at 4000rpm and 13 degrees of pitch can be kept very tight. At 3400, you have to roll the heli a little more, and the timing is different.

My 450L is the same way. At 70% throttle I do the same moves, but with different timing and 6 minute flight times. At 100% throttle it's a nimble monster, but I only get 4 minutes of fun time.

600efl isn't good at lower hs, i agree.
if you have a heli that is good at low hs, then it is great because you will save your batteries, your esc and you motor. the load is smaller and you can still fly the way you want because the heli is light and requires lower hs to get you there. i'm talking specifically about Logos. not saying that logos are best than TREXs, just commenting about hs.
