Default MCX2 foward flight

I am new to the hobby and on here. Bet everyone that reads this had a nickle for everytime they have read that statement.

I have been playing around with my MCX2 and my DX6i and it takes almost moving the right stick all the way forward to get it to fly forward a little. It onlys takes a little to make it fly backwards and it will go pretty fast backwards but will hardly fly forward. Is there something I can adjust on the MCX2 or the DX6i to fix this. Thanks for any and all help.

You need to adjust the right servo rod (looking from the back) down about 2 or 3 full turns.

If you're using a dx6i (or other computer radio with real trim), you can screw it down even more and use "back" trim to make up. This gives you faster forward flight at the expense of slower reverse flight.

Doesn't work on the non-computer radios.

To Pfloyd

I am a new pilot.....Dec. 2012......and I blame my brother on this!!!!!

I bought a used mCX2 off of eBay (probably my first mistake) and got it to fly last Thursday Nite for the first time. If I remeber correctly (and at my age who knows) but I think all the cyclic movements worked fine.

Friday Morning I was trying to fly it and my forward and backward cyclic did not work....I could throttle up and down, turn the nose left and right. Not sure about side to side tho.....(I do know that at this point side to side flying is accomplishable )

Well I found this thread and last night I did as you advised...turn the right hand servo link down two full turns.....yep the bird moves forward......on it's own....still no right hand cyclic control.....so if I back it off then it will just hover....

Since I fly with a Dx6i Tx I decided to rebind the bird to its original Tx.
Same results.
Rebound to my Dx6i. Same results...

I have this bird on it's own channel and I made sure the model was Heli and not Aero on the Tx.

so I am a bit lost on what I am doing wrong or might have missed.
Any suggestions?

Thank you
Clifford

Check to see that the battery isn't in too far and interfering with the servo gear that sticks out the bottom.

Last night when I got home I look at where the battery actually stopped. It was up against the Servo gear. Not very hard but it was there. So I put a small piece of clear tape over the little yellow tag and made sure nothing was in the way of the servo gear.

I also checked to see how dirty the gear was. Not very but I brushed it off just because I could....and of course some one with more experience than I made the suggestion!

But the REAL Problem was my settings on my Tx. I noticed this becasue after doing all the above there was not a lot of improvement.

Now being an extreme newbe pilot I know just enough to get me into trouble. but I sat there for about 30 to 45 minutes and played with my D/R settings. I adjusted the setting for each of the Aleron and Elevator and then moved the stick and watched how they affected the actual movement of the servo link. Once I thought I was where I needed to be I flew the bird. Nope not quite right...adjusted a bit more, flew, nope, better but not yet....I then continued this process for about an hour.....I ended up with a very dialed in mCX2. Still had a little drift so I went to the sub trim and dialed in just a very little bit. About 10 minutes of effort here

Success! the bird flies so well! It is what I would say 98% hands off stable hover....it is faster with forward flight and just a pleasure to fly......I was extremely happy....

Now a bit off topic..
I was so happy with the success with my mCX2 that I sat for another hour and worked on my out of control mSR. I had to rebuild that one from square one about three weeks ago and I have been unable to fly that since then. Well I was able to dial the settings down a lot, got the servo links adjusted and now it flies!!!! Still needs control to fly but I got it to fly....I was so happy with that much. Tonite I will go home and try to dial it in.

Thank you to all that helped out here!
