Not talking to anyone in particular by the way.

Excellently put!

That is what you are TELLING us to do?

For me personally that kind of flying would be too close for comfort. If I was there with him at the field, would I scold him or comment on the safety of his flying. Absolutely not. He's a grown up and can decide what is safe for himself. Honestly 3D flying is pretty dangerous even at safe distances, so it's always a bit of a gamble.

That said, a lot of times it is difficult to tell how close someone is flying to his person by watching a youtube clip. Optical illusions do exist.

I think some one is risking an accelerated visit with Allah. Even if I gained his proficiency, I hope that I would not be so reckless. As previously stated, every one on site has the option of being stupid. Also stated was that without real 3d display capabilities, we can only conjecture how close he really is. But to me, it appears dangerously close. Perhaps if the camera man was directly to the side at a safe distance and zoomed, we could get a better perspective.

Great skills and he showed a lot of bravery! I wonder how many hours of practice to get that good?

The thing I don't think he's considered is what is going to happen if he tries to step or jump back out of the way. His last thought will be of confusion over why his buddy is blocking his retreat?

This is even closer...

I guess close and danger are always a relative thing.

As we say in the UK, safe flying is no accident.

I dont believed he'd be able to fly like that in a UK competition but I may be wrong.

So true !

As with anything mechanical...........................guess what can happen ?

Flying machete blade at 2K rpms, I'd be a comfy 20 to 30 meters away from that.

Default No Way!!!

So the guy is good. I guess that makes him a little comfy, and IMHO careless too! I am a Pediatric Intensive Care Flight RN, and I see some of the most horrible injuries from the most innocent situations. Be smart. That heli is a beast, and is swinging some mean blades at what, nearly 3000 rpm??? He's just begging for an accident. And worse yet, what if he hurts someone else!!!

Never liked the "jeans with sandals" look.
