G'day all,

I got my little heli today and it's an absolute blast
But I'm guessing it's just a matter of time before I hit the deck and break something.
There are no hobby shops within 200 miles of where I live that stock any Blade stuff so I want to order some parts to have on hand.
You guys have been flying this little ripper for some time and I'm sure you can give me a bit of a list of the main parts I am likely to need for the enevidable prang.
So what parts should I get on order from the get go.

Tail boom assemblies: Unless you upgrade to a solid boom, expect the stock hollow one to splinter in a crash.
Spindles: These will bend rather easily in a crash.
Swash plates: The rear ball is easily broken off in a crash.
Main frames: Canopy posts are a weak point.
Rotor head linkages: Even if you do the hot glue mod, they can still snap in a crash. Keep an 8 pack on hand.

i would get about two of everything but the electrics, or a second bnf which will likely be the same dollar amount and order parts as needed ..

+1 he pretty much covered everything i would have told you.
if you fly over concrete extra canopy's also

+1 +1. That pretty much covers it. I would get a couple of bags of links, and probably a couple of frames. Those have been my constant reorders!

Do the tail boom extension with solid carbon. That will keep you from having to keep too many of those.

I like the KBDD main and tail blades. Not required, but they seem to be stronger than stock, and the new tail blades work really well. They come in a 2-pack (tail blades) so you get an extra with the one order.

It's funny, when I bought mine I asked the LHS what spare parts I needed and they handed me a landing gear (nothing else). Ironically, that's the one thing I haven't had to replace!

I went a while without breaking landing gear even after brushless. It seems in the month i've broke 4. All at the same spot.

Check out the paper canopy sticky. I use the paper canopies, without the two front canopy mounts. When they get damaged, a new canopy costs about 5 cents.

The "wife shock effect" is directly proportional to the size of the new aircraft that you have brought home. The price does not matter because you won't have a chance to relay that information from the dog house that night.

third law of RC flying:

Your wife/fiance will plan something like a dinner or day with her family on the most perfect day for flying. There will be little wind, 10% clouds in the sky, and all your buddies will be maiden-ing their new airplanes at the field. You will stare out the window and look at the leaves barely moving on the trees the entire evening.

fourth law of RC flying:

It will rain for three days straight if you purchase a new plane. If that new plane is something you wanted for a long time, it will also be extremely windy. Your friends will hate you.

fifth law of RC flying:

You will have multiples of every part for your aircraft. You will not, however, have the parts you need after a crash.

Nobody mentioned the main shaft...............that seems to be what breaks for me the most along with spindles.

Well I ordered up big today, it cost me about 2/3 the cost of a new heli
I think I just about got at least one of everything. Thanks for the tips guys.
But I bet I still haven't got "THE" part I'm gonna need
