Default Battery Source?

Thought I'd fly the ol' mcpx indoors but my batteries are worn out, through use and just time passing. My usual source for these batteries has dried up. Does anyone have a favorite battery that is also in stock? I might try those nanotechs....

Hyperion 250's were always a good option for a stock mCPX.

I also flew Spyder 250's from ProgressiveRC and liked those.

Thanks Craig. I had forgotten about the spyder brand, yeah they were good. No more Glacier lipos it looks like, but come to think about it the wires often failed on those...

By far the best mCPX battery is the Oversky 300mAh...

Simply because the discharge rating is 45C

Dang. I dropped the hammer on some Spyders before your post went out Jon. Those overskies do have good specs, I'd like to try them sometime. At least Progressive ships quick on the spyders.

I've always had good luck with either the eflite brand or the turnigy batteries.

Question, how do you install those batteries with the wired connector ends such as the Spyder's? I've been having my mcpx v2 for years but have never used anything except batteries with original type connectors that allow you to just push the battery in.

Just slide the battery in the battery slot of the skid and plug in the connectors. The Spyder battery is a bit wider but skinnery then the stock battery. It fits in the slot but at an angle if I remember correctly.

Yeah I got confused. I haven't flown my mcpx in about 2 yrs so I actually forgot how the battery really connected. Once I pulled the wreckage (bad crash) out of the closet, I took a look at the frame and remembered that the mcpx has the wires coming out of the frame making it easy to connect just about any suitable size battery with the right connector.

Gonna rebuild my little bird and get her back in the sky

I still fly my MCPX and currently I am using these batteries

http://www.thunderpowerrc.com/Produc...o/TP240-1SS4PK

and
http://www.hyperhobbies.ca/product-p/plu30-3001.htm

no complaints on either but the Thunderpower is much cheaper
