Default Spektrum Tm1100

Hey Guys,

Just wondering if anyone knows if you can run a Spektrum TM 1100 telemetry module with a sk540 and Spektrum satellites .

I don't want to go down the path of purchasing and installing a receiver

definitely.

I use an SK720, two Spektrum Satellite receivers (plugged into the SK720), TM1000 telemetry, and an SPMA9605 flight pack energy sensor. No receiver.

Measures flight pack (in mAH), RPM, Rx V on my DX9.

Works well.

Argypak - just realised you referred specifically to the TM1100. I think the same would apply, even though the range of the TM1100 is less than the TM1000.

Awesome, so what do you plug the tm1100 to? And is there a binding process

With the TM1100 you won't be able to use it with a SPMA9605 sensor as it requires an expansion port that this smaller unit doesn't have, but you still be able to measure flight pack (in Volts), RPM (with additional sensor purchased separately), Rx V and Temperature (ESC or Motor)

yes, makes sense. you would need an xbus expansion port for more sensors (like the flight pack energy). Still get other good telemetry though.

Works for me. Where does it connect to on the sk540?

it doesn't.

the TM1100 and TM1000 act as independent transmitters (and have their own aerial). You need to bind them separately to your transmitter.

also, you don't get hold type receiver telemetry as a result of this.

the manual has good info. http://www.modelflight.com.au/media/...-Manual_EN.pdf

Not exactly. You need to bind both the TM module and the SK at the same time!

It can be very awkward to press the button on the TM 1000/1100 unit and connecting power at the same time during the bind procedure. Consider making a y-connection between the TM 1000/1100 and the power rail to make it easier to bind the TM 1000/1100 unit and the receiver/sats simultaneously. Inserting a bind plug on the empty slot of the y-connection servers the same function as pressing the TM 1000/1100 button.

My trick is different and doesn't require disconnecting the sats from the SK:
you put the gyro into bind the normal way (select bind from the computer, disconnect sub and power up the normal way).

Than I take another 5V - 2S power source - in my case a scorpion guard - and plug it to the TM module and power it up while holding the bind button. Now you have 2 blinking sats and one blinking TM module. You can do this with a Y harness and bind plug is its too much trouble but you just don't need to connect them to the same power source.

Bind...
