Default Question about FRONT DRIVE GEAR SET AND PULLEY SHAFT

Hello,

New to the X5. I am rebuilding from a crash. I was wondering if anyone has switched out a stripped tail torque tube gear, the one inside the frame, without taking the frame completely apart?

This is the part that comes already attached to the metal piece that holds the frame together:

Do I really need to take all the servos and electronics out just to replace this gear?

thanks in advanced!

Loosen the tail boom and slide it out of the way and take out the screw holding the gear on. Slide the gear off and replace. Needle nose pliers will help with getting the new gear back on the shaft. Don't forget to hold the steel pinion underneath in position. You'll probably have to spin the pinion/shaft while gripping the plastic TT gear to get the holes to line up.

OK, great! I got it off, and will work on getting the replacement on. Thanks for the tip.
