Default XG14 throttle hold

Can anyone tell me please how to set up throttle hold on a plane ?

In the manual it lists t/hold for both helis & fixed wing, but I can't find anyway to enable it in the plane menus.

Thanks.

Well I'm not an expert... I flew planks as a kid (many many moons ago) and then we had to kill the throttle by pushing the throttle stick down...

with today's technology I think you can do an internal mix in your transmitter.. assign it to a switch and it MIGHT work...

Thanks for the suggestions. I've just tried throttle cut & that worked a treat, thanks mverhorst

This is my first plane & I'm looking for a way to double the throttle safety from the pits to flight line , ie : stick down AND a switch, which is the same as my helis. Never had a mishap so far doing it this way.

Thanks.

We must just be clear on what HOLD and what CUT means. The term HOLD came from the nitro heli requirements where they wanted to HOLD the throttle at a certain percentage above idle or cut off, so that the nitro motor can idle properly on the ground or to enable autorotation practice. This in real life should not be used to CUT or prevent electric motors from spooling up. In heli operations HOLD also has it's own pitch curve like any other FLIGHT MODE. So really to be used to enable the auto bail out for electrics as well. Futaba users will realize that HOLD on some radios cannot be set to lower than 17% for this exact reason.

CUT means exactly that, cut off motor on nitro helis or on electric helis, or on planks as well.

Ignorant usage of HOLD has led us to actually using the two functions the wrong round. You will only realise that using HOLD for what is was meant for makes practicing autorotations a breeze and then use CUT to make the model safe from accidentally spooling up.
