Hard to say what is wrong. There should be tones at some point, but I'm not sure. TheSteve converter is about 2 years obsolete... The ESCs now can be flashed with custom firmware to interpret the motor signals from the stock main board... Firmware is called BlHeli.

Current PnP kits come with a flashed ESC and motor for BL conversions.

There may be a few old timers that know the old systems enough to help...

Can you verify that everything is getting power with a multimeter? Have you checked all your connectors? Did you solder anything yourself, or all plugs?

i didnt do anything myself besides connect it. all the connections look good. i can try to test the motor connector for power but since the motor isnt spinning id assume it isnt getting power. this is the esc here: http://www.wowhobbies.com/thestevebl...r-3-1-1-2.aspx

edit: i did find that one of the connections on this piece were broken and when i tampered with it it broke off. what is this?

I do know where it goes. It connect to the 3 spots on the board above it that form a triangle. Can I just solder with this back on?

Your also missing a capacitor that goes between the two larger solder pads, right to left, on the bottom right hand corner as viewed in your pic.
