Triabolo motor
I really like my Pyro 700 motor in my TDR and will go the Pyro way for the Triabolo.
I noticed that most are using the 750 for the Diabolo. Is the same advised for the Triabolo? Keep in mind that this will be for mild to intermediate 3D on my part, no smack down or speed run

I have a Pyro 750-50 on my Tri 700 as recommended by Chuck at Peak when I got it. Love the heli and with my meager flying skills this does everything I ask of it.

800-40 on mine. Amazingly efficient motors.

Ok so now if I went 800 instead of 750 what exactly am I looking at as the main difference?
Obviously a bit more power I guess but will this be detrimental to flying time or not? What else should I expect? By the way thanks all for your answers.

I notice no lack of power in my tri.. Flight times are around 5 min ar 1800 no matter what size battery I use.

Great thanks. I just wanted to know if I should expect some differences.

No problem.. I bought that Tri as a diabolo 700 originally.. Then stretched to an 800.. Then to the Tri.. It's had the same motor the whole time.. I love the setup.. Just changed the pinion out.

I get around 7:30 out of mine, on 14s with 5000s. One thing about the larger motor, be aware you will have to clearance the secondary shaft support plate to clear the can if you are running the small pinion like I am.

When you say larger motor for clearance, do you mean the 800 or the 750?

The 800 or 850 will be the only size with a clearance issue running a small pinion I think it's only less than 18t

OK thanks you. I think I will stick with either a 700 or a 750 for my triabolo.
Probably 750 since Chuck at Peak recommends it. I have the 700 all worked out in as far as ESC set up but i think I can figure out the 750 too While we are at it. Any particular blades you would recommend best?(again, mild to intermediate 3D, not speed)

Regarding motors in general, when I first built mine I put in the motor I already had which was a Hacker Turnado 470kv. I thought it was not going to be up to the job at all but I wanted to get it flying. Much to my surprise it worked really well. I had a 19 tooth pinion and was running about 1350/1400 headspeed. I only changed it out when summer rolled around and it was running very hot and wasn't getting enough airflow (it is now running happily in my Faifa).

Bringing this back up as my finger is on the order button (or a least pre order button for a Triabolo)
Which 750 should a go for on a 12S 5000mAh set up with a Kosmik.

We recommend X-Novas or Pyros.
Either 750-45 or 750-50 or 4530-500 or the XTS 4530-480. All are good motors.

(I assume it's the L size shaft but this motor was rewound and it's possible they could have fitted the XL shaft as well)

I had the long shaft on my KT motor and it just clears the batt tray. No need for that unless you need it for another brand? They may be the highest quality motor I have ever laid eyes on. But, my Kde's blow them away for sheer power.
