Hi Guys I'm a bit confused?? I just purchased a Blade 450X RTF and it came with the DX6i (pre-programmed). As I'm reading this thread the information on DR is the opposite of how my TX is setup. When one of the Switch's (Elev, Ail, Rudd - or ganged together) is at (0) I get full throw and when set to (1) that is the dual rate and I get 85%. I'm use to this setup but I'm confused with what I read here... What am I missing?? Thanks! |

If you want to use your DX6i to set D/R's, you need to make sure that Menu B (Control Behavior) is set to solid blue (transmitter)

It doesn't matter whether the "0" position or the "1" position gives you full throw. They are just the 2 options that you can play around with. In your dual rate (DR) / Expo menu, you can select what amount of throw you want each position to have. You can also select which switch controls the mode. A lot of people tie their DR's to the Function Mode (F.Mode) switch, but you can also tie it to the individual aileron, Elevator, and Rudder switches if you wanted to change only one at a time. You can also do this with your gyro gain.

Don't use duals rates. Have lowest D/R set to 55 max. 2nd 75. 3rd. 100.

I'm confused. You say "Don't use dual rates", then list a series of values to use with dual rates.
Dual rates are actually a very nice way to tame down a heli. You need to be careful that you don't take it down so much that it can't respond when you need it to though. The RTF Blade 450 came with dual rates already programmed to somewhere around 67, and I would not recommend going any lower. As you get more comfortable with the heli, you can easily bump the rates up until you get to 100.

Hi, I changed a plane for a used Blade 450 3D, but it came without the radio control, which has to reconfigure it again, I have a Futaba 6 CH, but I can not identify the servos, and the pitch always gives me negative, There is someone who helps me to know which is the servo of the cyclic, aileron and elevator and because the pitch only gives negative, and will be to modify the distance of the links rods. I have been looking for quite a bit and I do not find manuals, videos and I already asked horizonhobby.com but they told me that they sold it RTF and they did not know anything else.

They're all cyclic servos. One that tilts the swashplate forward/backward is elevator, ones on each side of the swash are aileron and all 3 moving up n down together is collective/pitch. Tail servo is rudder.
Don't know about Futaba, might list one of the aileron servos as cyclic. You'll have to search for info about the specific transmitter you're using. On the AR7200 fbl controller I believe one of the aileron servos is aux1 but don't quote me as it's been about a year since I sold my last 7299. Anyway you need to find manuals for your transmitter plus whatever fbl controller/gyro you're using and read them. If it's not setup properly it'll self destruct before it even gets off the ground. Quite a bit of homework you have to do to get going but once you get the gist of it it's not bad. Also if you've never flown a helicopter before, you'll want to learn how on a cheap, durable micro before attempting to fly a 450 or you'll be in for an expensive, frustrating and possibly dangerous experience.
