Default gyro gain for DX8

trying to figure out the word gain and how to get to that function in the DX8, I have the gyro switch set to the gear and f switch set to aux 2. what I need to do is reduce the gain on the tail but there is nothing called gain that I have come across in the radio functions. almost there after months and alot of expense, the tail jacks back and forth when lifting off. once I get some help to figure that out I am sure there will be plenty of other questions to perfect this trex 450 pro 7200bx. maybe its in the bx setup?

Gain is hard wired to the gear channel on the AR7200BX. 0 to 100 is Heading Hold gain, 0 to -100 is rate mode gain. Below are starting gains. Your final gains will be different.

Gyro menu:

Normal 72.0
Stunt1 72.0
Stunt2 72.0
Hold 72.00

Ch. Gear Sw: F Mode

Note the Ch Gear. The channel setting must be set this way. Sw: F Mode means you get gains for each flight mode as listed above.

Hope it helps!

Thanks for some reason I was thinking there was a gain in the radio but now realize it is on the bx unit, I will put those settings in it and try it again, thanks for the help.

There is a gain in the radio. Personally, I like my sw on the gyro switch. Adjust the gain (gyro menu) in the tx until you get at least a "G" light on the AR7200 to start and increase/reduce from there.

There are some other things that can cause a tail wag like the mounting tape. What tape/pad are you using. A lot of guys do not have good luck with the supplied pads and are using the 3M 4011 or 4010 double-sided tape with good results. I'm using the 4010, but just got some 4011 in and may give that a try in the future. But it's working good now, so why mess with it.

Also, have you checked here:

I think you misunderstood. Gain is set on the transmitter. I basically gave you my Gyro menu on the DX8.
