Bad Batteries?
OK,
I have not flown my SR for quite some time. I went out the other day to just hover and maybe push the thing around a bit. When I released the throttle hold the tail rotor took off at a high RPM and the main slowly spun, but not enough to fly. My throttle stick was all the way off and I noticed I did not have the little "chirp"on my radio for trimming the throttle. All the other trims seem to work. Each time I clicked the throttle hold on and off, the heli did the same performance. My question is, could the batteries have been creating this issue? It's been well over a year since they were last used. I am looking for the tail and main rotor to be completely off when I throw the throttle hold. Any help appreciated, Thanks. |

Did you put battery in storage charge when you put it away? Did the heli make its little beeps when it initialized? If the radios batteries were low, and the battery pack on the heli, it may have not initialized correctly.

The radio may have been low. I had not used it for a while as well. I do not remember the heli making the correct sounds as the battery was connected. Will make sure that happens next connection.
A couple of the batteries are "puffy" (the cases are expanded) but not the one I used. I will go for a good charge on the radio and a couple of new batteries,Also that "acclamation" thing for the gyro will be exercised. Not saying that was the problem, but I will rule it out. Thanks for your response nighttrain06. |

No problem, maybe try rebinding it also after pack/radio all have good juice. Let us know how it goes.

Got a full battery and charged radio. This time the little chime came on when the heli powered up. Good. When I switched the throttle hold off the heli did the same thing. Bad.
After turning the throttle hold on, I noticed I had the ability to trim the throttle (little chirps on radio had returned). After an adjustment the heli responded normally. Good. Flew a bit in the garage, with a little tweek on the trim settings all seems fine. All good. You know it's been a while when your afraid to just hover. But I'm sure like riding a bike "the nerve" will return. Thanks again. |
