Question Mystified by batteries and flight times!?!

Hey all

I've had my MCPX v2's since January/February this year. I did have two 2nd hand ones but one of the boards has decided to unbind itself and I can't get it to rebind. The other one is still functioning and flying OK but I had to solder a new battery cable to the original as the connector came loose (thus making the existing battery cable a bit longer). I also have a brand new MPCX v2 which has had no faults and no repairs since I bought it...

I've got stock E-flight MCPX batteries, and I also have some Turnigy Nanotech 300mah 25C (might be 30C) batteries.

On either type I get a max flight time of 3:30, maybe 4, minutes just hovering. I always have done even when the Turnigy batteries were new, the E-Flite ones were 2nd hand with the first of the MCPX v2s I bought (along with my DX6i).

I also have 2 Skyartec Wasp Nano CPXs, they're brushless from the factory and fly great imho, but are a little fragile compared to the MCPX. I get longer flight times with them though.

So, recently I had an idea of making up a converter lead for the Walkera Mini CP style batteries that my Skyartec Wasp Nano CPX uses (they are branded Skyartec but have the same connector as the Walkera Mini CP batteries, don't know if they're 100% the same) so I could use them on my MCPX v2s.

And today I tried doing just that (I've had the pre-wired connectors for about a week now). Didn't have much luck on the 2nd hand bird that is still flying, not sure why but the battery drained rather quickly - I'll have to charge the batteries up again to re-test that one.

However the MCPX that I bought brand new worked very well with the other battery that I had charged up. I got at least 6 minutes flying time before the heli conked out and the led started flashing at me (presumably due to the low voltage cutout?) - that's nearly double that of my E-Flite and Turnigy Nanotech's!!!

I was only doing hovering practice indoors though.

The Skyartec batteries are only 240mah 20C, the same discharge rate and mah as the stock E-Flight batteries afaik.

The one that drained quickly on me is an unbranded/generic 400mah one from Banggood which they state is for the Walkera Mini/Super CP - it works fine in my Skyartec Wasp Nano CPXs, no idea why it drained so quickly!

So the question is - why did I get nearly double the flight time using my Skyartec branded battery in my MCPX v2?
