I just wish there were Power Jives still available. I don't care about auto bailout and I'd have to buy the $125 programmer to make it work anyway making this a almost $700 ESC. Geez... I am happy with the internal gov.

There is several hundred units sold in the first batch, people run both regular mode 4 and there is those with mode 8 with success, only known cases with issues are these 3 reported here.
Like i said, problem is that its not 100% sure why, yet.

Ive been running mine for 100+ flights now without issue (mode 8)

Yea I am still waiting for someone to respond that they are running mode 8 from the production run of units...

RH told me "thousands" had been sold which is total BS. Someone is making up numbers to make the sheep feel comfortable. It's an insult to think we are gullible and stupid.
They can kiss my axx, I might just switch to YGE.

I have one unit from the production run here, running Mode 8.
That said, since it's not clear why it failed for those who it failed for, people ask me if it's safe to run, or even run Mode 4, and the answer is simply: I do not know.

Google is your friend. Anyone trying to setup a HeliJive would most likley have seen Mr. Mel's videos on VBar so not many boards they would go to.

Here is one post from a guy with a HeliJive running in regular gov mode(not vbar) and actually references this thread.
http://www.rcheliaddict.co.uk/speed-...ive-120hv.html
Also note Kontronik has an offer to send in your PowerJive under warranty to exchange for a HeliJive + $$.

http://translate.google.com/translat...:w%26tbm%3Ddsc
Looks like Ulrich from the VStabi Team successfully using Mode 9, does not indicate but would be a reasonable assumption that is a pre-production unit.

Another Post. Preproduction Unit from the TDR Guys.
http://translate.google.com/translat...:w%26tbm%3Ddsc

Now if someone wants to put thier money where their mouth is I will bite. If my servo's are fried then thats, $450.00, plus pick up the bill for shipping both the HeliJive and Servos for replacement and Vbar back to VStabi for a check up. By my rough numbers around $1,100.00 US.
Any takers from KT or RH, or ReadyRC?

Give us official useful information, or we don't know but here is what we are doing. Stop feeding this back channel mis-information crap.

This is a word, such as the German says. Thanks!

Hopefully we will soon know more, if K could investigate a (THAT) questionable ESC. Hopefully the matter can be brought to light by forensic on this (single) JIVE.

GN. A total rainy weekend expecting.. Tom

With regards to the trade-in, I'm not sure it wouldn't be a better deal for both you and another pilot to sell your Jive 120 for $425 or $450 and then buy a new HeliJive outright. It is nice that Kontronik is offering this, however.

Default Recommend ESC for V-Bar Governor

Ask to get answers..
That was now absolutely new to me. Seems that I lived behind the moon for a while..

From here:

Quote:
RV:
Why only the Helijive at the moment ... quite simple:

The other controller manufacturers (are still a few more with it) are not yet ready or we are not satisfied with the offered variants. Partly it stagnates over weeks and months on the part of the ESC-developers. Perhaps once there, customers must apply to them to make them aware of the situation.

Me:
I do not understand now, Rainer. Somehow there seems to be missing me a whole piece of film, so come to nothing in the hobby ..

I thought that before HeliJIVE many people had flown several other ESCs with the V-Bar Gov, successfully?

RV:
Yes yes ... We test everything ...

Firecrackers that flaring times, ESCs that will, under certain circumstances went out of step ...

Of course you can install "everything" on your own. ... Only when we release a new package here voted only to electric helicopters is ... ESC should be one which was able to withstand loads applied by Uli ;-)

That does not mean that others do not do, but we just want to give a safe recommendation.
Sorry, I was too lazy on a lazy rainy day.. used Google translator and corrected only the bad things.

Tom

Ring ring.. Just now a HeliJIVE arrived for testing of JLog acting as phase sensor to V-Bar. Good activity for a rainy day.

JLog can act as a phase sensor on a Heli Jive? If so where can I get one?

It's currently under "Early Availability" of the download area of J-Log.net.

But!!! Still untested with V-Bar! The problem is that due to the nature of the diagnostic protocol of the JIVE the update rate of the pulse frequency is rather low, every 100ms nominally, and if the JIVE is doing the commutation there may be from time to time also up to 300ms between two updates.

Let me test this at first on my motor test site, eddy current brake, it's safer.

Tom

Yes, of course, I am already anyway involved now and personally interested to hear about. Will speak to K on Monday. Friday is always no good day to reach the frontend of K.

They will be at the IRCHA, but no clue if painted boobs there also.

Uh, I just now noticed that it is three identical-sounding events.
Embarrassing.. Tomatoes on the eyes..
Besides jhheli there is jtjohn1 and Magneto.

What about their JIVEs? Went also back to K?

I only ask because the more devices, the better the chances for quick results in the analysis.

Glad to hear you tried kontronik again, I just finish putting the same jive 80 back on and replaced the servos I needed to get the heli back in the air, flies perfect running mode 4, I got bored and put a fan on the heatsink, I did have to replace the step down that was on the tail, hut besides that it is flying perfect.

How would I no if I need another phase sensor?

Also if you talk to K and if they are coming to ircha he can bring it there, I haven't heard anything from them that's why I say that.
