Yeah, at this time I'm looking at getting the TGY-306G cyclic servos and putting a Spektrum H3060 on the tail.
I'll probably stick with the Castle Edge Lite 50 ESC since I have that on my 450X and have the programming cable for it. I know how to use that with my BeastX and am comfortable with that setup. I'll also go with the Align 460MX 3200kV 3S motor as previously stated.

Is there a listing of all of the part numbers for either the Tarot 450 Pro v2 or the Align 450 Pro v2? One of the things I like about Blade helis is that their manuals always include an exploded picture of all of the parts plus the part numbers for each. Makes it so much easier to find spares on line when you can search for the number.
Neither the Tarot nor the Align manuals seem to have this level of detail. So far I haven't been able to find such a list yet, but I'll keep searching... I've been looking online for what spares are available and I don't want to get a main shaft or feathering shaft only to find out that I got the wrong one.

That's too bad that it won't let you upload it. Can you host it somewhere else? Or do you have the original URL somewhere you could post?

Just watched the CPO video about modding the Turnigy S306G-HV servos to protect the circuit board against accidentally shorting out on the aluminum housing. Geez. I had no idea this would be an issue. What a horrible failure mode caused by a poor design???

Heliproz.com used to have a parts finder. It was basically an exploded view of the Heli and you clicked on the part you wanted to find it. It worked pretty well but I think it's gone from the website.

This lets me dive into my next question about "versions" of parts and being sure to select the right ones. As an example, the Blade 450 (flybarred) had to have several of the head parts upgraded when flybarless 450X came out. Thus you just need to be careful when browsing at a hobby store that you get the right feathering spindle for the 450X and not the 450. This is my main concern when shopping for Align parts. I want to make sure that I get the right parts for the 450 Pro V2 and not any of the other variants. So, here's one example question. Let's say I'm looking at mainshafts. The first link I see is for the H45022: http://www.ronlund.com/rcheli-prod/A...AD/H45022.html but I then see that it says that I should see the link for the H45022A here: http://www.ronlund.com/rcheli-prod/A...D/H45022A.html Okay, so should I assume then that the second link is the one that I want? Also, for feathering spindles, I see that there are 3 different variations, including H45021, H45021A, and H45H005XXW. But only the latter two are listed on this web page: http://www.ronlund.com/rcheli-prod/A...D/H45021A.html http://www.ronlund.com/rcheli-prod/A...45H005XXW.html and then in the H45H005XXW page, it says that I should use this one rather than the other two. So far, so good, I guess. If I follow the logic above then I should have the most up-to-date parts for the Pro V2, right? Just curious if anyone knows if there are any exceptions to the rule here which could be a problem later on.

I've built two Tarot pro v2's. I have had good luck with tarot replacement parts. The only align parts I have used are main shaft and main gear. I have had good luck with hobbyking yep esc's but bad luck with hobbyking's servos. I now use Alpha RC Pro servos from tarot-rc-heli.com. Very nice servos. They are HV but I run a 6s system. Good place to get a lot of you replacement parts.

Which Hobbyking servos did you get and what happened to them?

Here's another location which supposedly can be used to find parts:
http://shop.align.com.tw/partfinder.php I see the exploded parts diagrams but need to try this on my PC (not my tablet) to see if I can get to the actual part numbers.

Huge noob question here. Any advice on wet sanding carbon fiber? I want to get those edges smooth without giving myself black lung disease.

I use 400 or 600 grit wet or dry sand paper and sand the edges in the kitchen sink with the water very lightly running over them. There is no dust at all and any carbon fiber removed by the sanding just washes down the drain. I make little rolls with the sandpaper, which eases the sanding of corners and holes in the frames and lessens the chance of scratching the flat surfaces.

What's a good headspeed for this heli? On my 450X, I run the governor on my Castle Edge Lite 50 with headspeed options of 2800, 3000, and 3150.
I presume something similar is appropriate for the Tarot? I'm going to be using the 3200Kv 460MX motor. Just need to figure out which pinion I should get.

Sorry it's been so quiet here. I've got all the parts in my house now but work and life have been getting in the way. When I have time on the weekends, I spend it flying rather than building.
But... I heard someone recently saying that when you attach a servo horn to a metal gear servo, you should use threadlock on the screw. Really? I'd actually be a little worried about getting threadlock on the plastic servo horn and making the plastic weak. Do you guys do that?

450 pro dfc
Just thought I'd throw in my 2 cents on parts that work for me. I have a trex 450 pro dfc with over 100 flights on it with no failures....
Turnigy Plush 40A esc - Really love this cheap esc w/ programming card Turnigy 2218 motor - love it, great motor on 12t or 13t pinion AR7200BX - love it, great fbl unit Align ds416m on cyclic - no issues, works great Align ds426m on tail - no issues. The esc with card was under $25 The servos were around $26 each....not much more than cheapos. Turnigy typhoon 2218 was $20 ( I didnt have good luck with the bearings in the 2215h) It was kind-of a budget build but I didn't skimp on servos or fbl unit and it flies unbelievably well...hope some of this helps.
