Assuming you're referring to 450 Plus DFC which is same as mine :
Are you using DX6i with a Spektrum satellite receiver?
If [YES]
Have you bound your DX6i to your 450?
If [YES]
Then please refer to the 450 BNF manual, page 16, "Spektrum System" section. It list the recommended settings here which I think should work with your DX6i. You can find the manual here at the Trex 450 Manuals thread, post #111.

I suggest you download and print a copy for easy reference. And look through over it when you're free. I've look through it countless times. Although I don't know much of the technical things, I've been able to grasping them slowly one by one as I read more and fix my heli more.

Hope this helps.
yes pal same heli as you and DX6i with a Spektrum satellite receiver
but.. i cant get it to bind NIGHTMARE.. i feel like throwing the whole lot in the bin... its just not worth the hassle..

My Dominator with a 3GX was fun to bind...

Bind plug, and a press of the set button while you power up, then Bind on the radio too! Nightmare without a temp switch... very fiddly!

What FBL unit came with your Plus?

From Rob's thread here at PLEASE help trex 450 3Gx mRS bind problem it should be a 2nd hand 450 with stock 3GX MRS. Then he got himself a Spektrum satellite RX to bind with his DX6i.

Maybe you can help Rob out over at his thread there.

Thanks.

Hi everyone,

This should be my last update to this thread as I've finally solved my last problem and I'm no longer flying a 450 Plus DFC.

-----

For the brief explanation :

My first suspicion is on the stock ESC which I switched to HobbyWing Platinum 50A V3 ESC. It solved another issue but not the "apparently" signal lost issue.

The 2 last suspects are the T6J TX and 3GX MRS FBL. I got myself a micro heli XK K110 which binds to my T6J so that I can still fly while my 450 is grounded as well as to make sure the TX is okay. As the testing goes it proves that my TX is okay so I can safely conclude that the issue lies with the 3GX MRS FBL.

At the suggestion of my friend, Boon, concerning my budget, I switched my 3GX MRS to a Skookum 540 and my Futaba T6J TX to a JR Propo XG6 and voila. Now my 450 was more responsive and control was great. But... it feels somewhat floaty . I was reluctant to push the 450.

As a last suggestion from Boon, I finally decided to switch to a Gaui X3 frame. The HobbyWing ESC, Skookum 540 FBL, as well as stock Align motors and servos. Now I'm quite happy that I have no fear flying a 450.

-----

For a more detailed explanation :

I met my first heli flyer friend, Leon, at my workplace. When I describe my heli repairing woes to him, he immediately introduced me to his friend, Boon. Boon is an owner of RC heli shop. We soon meet up and he immediately went on repairing my heli and then he had me hover to help me dial in my TX to suit my flying style. After that we went to his local flying site and... I crashed... Reason is same as my previous crash which is heli not responding to my control.

After repair Boon tried a few cyclic maneuvers and throttle pump. He discovered that when he increase the throttle the headspeed dropped very fast, as if the heli lost power. At my approval he installed a new ESC, HobbyWing Platinum 50A V3. This solution solved the power issue.

When I went for another spin, you guessed it, another crash... This time Boon suspect that it's either issue with the T6J or 3GX MRS, or both. At this time Boon was busy with overseas event so my heli repair is delayed. At this time I got myself a micro heli XK K110 to cover up my 450 and also to test out my T6J as it's compatible with S-FHSS protocol. The K110 flies great and it went further than I can imagine.

When Boon came back I reported the result to him and after discussing my budget with him regarding his next suggestion I proceed to replace the 3GX MRS with Skookum 540 and JR Propo XG6 TX. After the switch the response is pretty good. Cyclic response is definitely better than the 3GX MRS.

For an entry level TX the sticks feel more smooth than the T6J. I was able to make very fine throttle adjustment which I could not with T6J.

Here's a few photos of it :

Even though the controls are great the heli feels floaty . I was controlling it very conservative. Not daring to push it as I usually would. I had a minor crash with it later, due to my lost of orientation and stripped the main gear. Boon helped me replace the gear on the spot and then suggested that I switch to stronger frame, to X3 which is one of the Gaui helis he and his pals are flying with.

I was with Boon and his pals a few times and saw them hard auto landing their X3 and the landing skid took it without any issue. I've also seen some other less severe crashes. They just pick it up and flew again.

After having thought it over and discussed with Boon I finally proceed with the upgrade.

Getting my new X3 into the air after we reach the flying site was a joy. I was not reserved at all and gave my all. Boon had to alert me to be cautious from time to time . Only had one minor crash when Boon's alert led to me having a brain freeze and I TH my X3 few feets up in the air. All I got was a few grass entangled in the tail rotor head. I love this X3. I'll be sticking with it for quite long time.

I was also lucky to be able to sold off the T-Rex 450 Plus to recover some of my loss. It seems like T-Rex 450 Plus is not much of a favourite here.

Here are some photos Boon took before I had my first flight with it :

-----

I would like to thank CrashNburn420, gimbleguy, lahannsven, Flightpunch 34, Luigi_tuga, and prismatic for their guidance and suggestions.

I would like to thank my friend Leon for introducing me to Boon.

And finally great thank you to Boon for taking his time to help me troubleshoot, repair, and perform upgrades without charging me for most of the services except for purchasing of parts.

Thank you all and have a safe flight.
