Hello everyone, totally new to rc helis and a couple of weeks bought a blade nano cxp. Couple of days later had the opportunity to buy a blade 500x and a trex 450L Dominator.
The 500x is BNF but the 450L I've had to build and after a lot of research here and else where here it is.

Here is my attempt when recently assembled for a good friend his first heli.
I think it is a good training base.

Guys, you really should cover all wires going through the edge of the carbon frame. Leaving it uncovered is asking for troubles!

Cheers Carlos, I was too keen to get it flying. Just did a temporary fix for now.

Matt, I'm especially concerned about possible damages to the satellite wires that are rubbing against the carbon fiber.

It's not anything new or special, but at least it fairly clean.

My first attempt. Be gentle. 450L

Open to suggestions obviously. I think it's routed well. Still looking for a transmitter/receiver for it, hence why there are wires still hanging.

Looks good! A few things, I see you are just putting zip ties on the wires, it is best to wrap a small strip of electrical tape around and then ziptie, I have had the ties cut into wires. And not related to wiring, make sure you get your DFC links screwed on a little more, wouldn't hurt to have a few more threads to grab onto. Other than that, looks great!

Apart from what Dylan said, the only thing I want to add is that you should consider using a mesh for the wires. Not only makes the wiring a lot cleaner, but it also protects the wires from the frame edges and zipties.

I filed all the edges so they were all smooth, I'll see if I can find that mesh, it would look a lot cleaner with it as well as be protective. I'm not sure about the esc though as the wires are sitting on the motor, and they were so stiff to bend that I actually broke a bullet connector off the motor, which I still need to fix...and there's virtually no wire to work with.

The DFC links felt like they might start to strip if I went any further, that's why there is so much there. I still have yet to setup the heli as I have yet to put a receiver in it.

The icon doesn't mind being strapped down like that? normally FBL units you only use the double tape on bottom and so they can more a tiny tiny bit.
I always say im going to get some the wire mesh to put on mine but never have. i still don't fully understand how you install it guess you have to remove the connector then re install it.

That's called the "Milton" Mod. It serves as a Vibration Isolation System. More details at https://www.helifreak.com/showthread.php?t=282042
