Default What cause this (main gear)

Just check my T-Rex 700 main gear, and I see this on the left:

And this from right main frame:

It has never happened before, but yes, today I smack it really hard. Does my motor flex in fligh and I need the part below:

But why the white powder appear on the right frame? I mean if the rotor head turn in clockwise, then it should appear on the left, or the other side of the right main frame, right?

You may have stripped the threads for the main gear in the Autohub. It's easily done and will look like that.

I'm quite carefull and managed to strip all six threads. I used helicoil to fix the hub. It's easy.

I was gonna ask.... as it sits.. can you move the main gear up and down? If it has a lot of play, that would kind of rule out the motor shifting it around.

You right! I just check the main gear case. God, I stripped all the 6 holes. Will order the OWB mount from KDE.By the way, could you please let me know the link to purchase the helicoil? And how to insert it?
Thanks.

The white gears flex quite a bit more than the black machined gears as well.

Align has announced a new hub to alleviate the thread stripping issue:

You need a thread repair kit for M3 screws, these includes everything you need put the tap handle. There are different kits, and this is probably not the cheapest one but the one I used. You also need a powerdrill and preferably a vise to put the hub in. There are instructions included, and I can imagine youtube have some vidoes on this. The threads becomes way stronger after the new steel threads. No risk of stripping them again. I advice you to go this route, throwing away a part because the threads are gone is wasting

Looking at the diagram on the US distributor website, the new hub looks like it still uses the sleeve -- long a source of problems. Now why didn't they fix that while they were at it?
