HC3-SX DSMX binding problem

I hope I'm just missing something here...

I had the HC3-SX with dual DSMX sats flying with my X9303 without a problem until today when the radio decided to just die..( heading to Horizon for repairs)

So I broke out my X9503 and started rebinding my helicopters to it and all was going well until..
I get to the HC3-SX helicopter....

When I go to try and bind the HC3-SX with the 2 DSMX sats, only one ( closest to the I/O port) goes into bind mode (flashing) the second sat is doing nothing.

Swap leads and the second sat flashes and the first is now dark.

Went to bind the Tx,the flashing sat goes dark and remains that way even after 5 minutes holding the bind button.

Here is hat I have tried so far..

Different Rx packs and binding.... no joy
Unplugging the inactive sat and binding... no joy
Initiating the bind and writing to the unit and binding ....no joy
Set up the binding action and unplugging the data line to the computer...no joy

If there is a trick to this I sure would like to know what it is..
I didn't have this trouble using the 9303 with DSM2 mode
Any help would be much appreciated.

Found the solution.....

In order to bind, all connections except power and data I/O can not be installed on the unit
