Help a noob set up a Nano CPX and a DX6i!!!
What's the best way to set up my cpx on a dx6i? I haven't flown it successfully yet and I JUST BOUGHT THE DX6 YESTERDAY! So I'm not familiar with the terminology or how to correct sensitivity issues. Can anyone give me a 'schooling' on how to set it up right so it will be slightly more forgiving? Also, what's the benefit of using the bullet blades?
Any and all advice will help A LOT!!! I have absolutely no idea what the hell I'm doing here and the settings in the manual seem overt hard for me to control the heli. Help??? |

It's all on the first page of the manual brother. Click the wheel and go to what you want to edit. And make it the same as the book. Easy.
Take the D/R down to 70 or so. Add +35 expo. Should tame her down some. |

I was in your shoes just about a year ago and this site has been a great place to learn all that I needed to get flying. My advice is to spend some time watching Finless Bob's videos in his tech room and ask a lot of questions in these forums.
Look at and understand each and every setting in the radio until you get the big picture, there's a lot to learn and it takes time. There are great flight training videos here to get you started too. Good luck and have fun, Mike.

As Nologic said its in the manual, personally i tuned it down to 40% expo. Its a fast moving little bugger. And its actually flybarless
Edit: oh and ofc remember to flick the D/R switches to 1 to enable softer settings. Bullet blades are supposed to make the heli more stable in hovers and such as far as i figured. Personally i liked the "plain" ones better tho

Dude, you need to slow down. Flying a cp heli is one of the more difficult things you will ever come across. Natural talent is not enough, although it does go a long way.
You need to understand the simple things first. Below are links to some very helpfull bits of info to get you started. http://www.dream-models.com/docs/FieldManual.pdf ChopperAddicts_guide_to_the_Spektrum_DX6i[1].pdf

I went the opposite direction on expo to allow for more sensitivity. I've got it at 15% for AILE and ELEV, and INH for RUDD in D/R.
It allows for smaller movements of the cyclic, and less chasing the heli around. With such high expo on this small bird, it was impossible for me to control. I'm still in the learning orientations stage, so I may bump up the expo once i'm actually into FFF. |

Thanks guys. :)
Yeah, I'm trying to learn as much as I can as fast as I can. However this is becoming a very expensive hobby and I would like to know how to set that transmitter to kind of team all of my helis. Fixed pitch is no problem. My mqx is no problem. But my Huey and cpx are KILLING MEEEEE!!! I can't get it tame enough to even learn on

At any rate thank you very much everyone for your help. And the speed in which these gems of knowledge flooded in. I truly appreciate it. And forgive me if I ask the same thing over and over. I'm on my phone so it's easier to just ask again then go digging for old posts. |

try these settings for your nano cpx:
D/R ail & elev 40% and rudd 80% with all expos set to INH (0%) throttle curve 0-30-55-80-100 pitch curve 40-45-50-70-90 i'm just learning how to fly collective pitch (started last week) and have only been flying helis for a few months but this is working for me. i'm basically just learning how to hover for now, and these settings are keeping the nano nice and tame in my tiny apartment. |
