With lots to learn..
been at it for about 2 years now. I finally feel like my flying is to a point where I can start doing some AP work. I went through the ranks learning how to fly starting off with msr, then blade ccp2, then blade 4503D, also had to get the MCPX. I've only flown with a GoPro so far but looking to build a DSLR rig this summer to use with a 600 heli.

I've been a member here for over a year constantly reading and learning different techniques. I'm at the point where I have some questions I feel wont be to out of line.

This is my current part list to get a working AP ship worthy of the name.

Kontronik Jive 60+ HV Brushless ESC (V9) - $350
Xera 4025/2.5y-670 Motor - $230
CHAOS 600 PRO LIMITED EDITION FLYBARLESS KIT - TORQUE TUBE - $350
Skookum SK720 6 Axis Flybarless System w/o Power Bus - $399
Trex 600E 2XPT - $559.95
ProTek R/C 6S "Supreme Power" Li-Poly 70C Battery Pack (22.2V/2900mAh) - $135
Radio - $400-500
Servos - $400-500

Now I'm self taught and don't have much mentoring in the area if any. Any advice will go a long way.

As for my flying level, I never learned any 3D. I don't feel its necessary to do AP, is this an accurate statement? I can fly my 450 in circle circuits, square circuits, figure 8s, controlled hovering, backwards flying and backwards circle, square, figure 8 circuits.

I'm not looking for a hand out just some guidance. Let me know what you think I should focus on. I'll keep this thread updated with my progress. Thanks

Here is a shot from my first ever attempt at AP.

What camera will you be planning to fly with? What payload do you need?

I currently have a canon 60D, but I plan on getting a t2i or GH2 for use with the heli. From what I researched the GH2 video quality is superior to the t2i. Also weighs less at right under 400grams. (13.82oz) Different lenses weighing around 1-2 lbs. The camera gimbal claims to weight 1.5 lbs. With other various electronics I would say a total payload would be around 5lbs.

The GH2 will not shoot with a live feed so you will not be able to shoot video and transmit the feed down to the ground to set up your shots. Just an FYI

Thanks Outofphase for that info.. That will definitely be a minus for the camera.

No one else has any comments on the set up above?
