Default s9257 on rex 250...WOW

hi guys
doing backflips yesterday with my rex 250 tail was kicking every flip.....and in backwards flight it would not hold.....

gy 401 + align ds410.......

just put my futaba s9257 on the tail and WOW....the effect was instant, rock solid....it was like it was flipping on a pivot, also got the gain up to 35%.......why did i not put this servo on sooner....

anyone with a rex 250 should invest in putting a s9257 on there tail...expensive yes but better set up in the long run....

kind regards helinelly

set up
stock 15t
stock motor
scorpion 25A esc not using heli gov mode
futaba s3117 on cyclic
futaba gy401+ the holygrail s9257 gain at 35% custom rod
outrage brick 860mah lipo
stock algin blades
tail mod cut 37mm blades

it realy is better then the rex 450's i have had
going to get the 16t pinion this week

Congrats, I will do the same!

Just 3 questions:

1. Did you have to rebalance on the nose/tail axe of the heli with any mod considering that the 9257 is heavier than the 420?

2. Did you setup the giro with 0 delay?

3. Did you have to cut the tail pushrod 5mm on both extremes?

Thanks in advance,

Ricci.

I put the servo on the left side of the boom to "hide" it from the blades/paddles. I made sure the elevator servo was on the right side, and also moved my ESC to the right side position. It balances fairly well now.

Congrats!
Thats what ive been preaching for months now, some people have good tails with the 420 or other micro size, others I think just like to suffer LOL.The 9257 rocks,so does the JR3500,my buddy has used both on his 250.The performance is worth the CG corrections.Get that 16 tooth on,100% flat throttle, and you WILL have some fun!

I really think people who haven't flown with the 9257/3500G should really give it a try and see the difference. I've flown with POS 420, Jr290 and 3500G... It's really night and day..

carbon boom ... to save tail weight from infinityhobby in case of you use the big rudder servo (Futaba s9257 / JR 3500g / Align 520)..
You may need to use the smaller&light weight vertical fin to made good balance weight

in your travel adjustments you should have +30 or lower
-30 not -100
plus 30 delay on gyro

also cut your blades down to 37mm
