Once you have set the endpoints of the various servos travel on the first screen of the Gpro setup all future adjustments are via the Gpro and not the radio, some see this as a negative cos its easier to do tweaks directly on your radio but if you have the BT permanently installed its easy enough!

Default Tail twitch GPRO align problems

Hi guys
It has been a while since I started this thread and been here. There is some confusion regarding bounce vs twitch. The problem I had was the twitch, as per my original post and video.

Well I sold the GPROs (3) last year and life went back to normal with the AR7200s - nice and smooth normal

And then a new align 700 Heli came last month via the post and I said - maybe they fixed it? Give it a try! Waste of time. Same problem. Also a friend just got one and he set it up on his JR radio - we tested it yesterday - same thing.

Come on Align - fix the problem!
And while your at it how about doing something about the tail Hum on the 700s - that's serious! Time to come out of hiding and address your customers complaints!

You can tell I am frustrated . I suspect anyway it is apparent.

Default GPRO tail twitch bug

Having been able to see this behavior on the bench, and then seeing that same controller perform flawlessly flight after flight tells me the behavior on the bench is not an indication of anything being wrong, it is how the heading hold gyro behaves when sensing no motion.

Hover in normal mode, adjust the tail linkage for a hover with no nose left or right yaw. Land. Reset the two travel limits. Then, back in HH mode, work with the left and right stop parameters, and the P and I gains as needed. Little additional adjustnent is needed.

Sorry disagree - I agree some are able to adjust the gain and get rid of it. I have seen this with 5 different GPROs on the bench with 3 brands of radios. Some see it in the air and some do not. Some can get rid of it, and some cannot. I can tell you that this was reported directly to Align and was supposed to be on their fix list. They decided to become a UAV company instead.

Default Its just a setting, not a bug.

Reducing the P gain in the tail setting in the software takes away the twitch completely. I am running 4 perfect twitch free GPRO now.

I know this is an old thread but if it helps anyone..

I bought a used bird that was barely flyable, changed every bearing, feathering and main shafts, tail shaft and the tail control link. Went through in detail and set it up to perfection. Would hover hands free but right rudder was twitchy and sometimes it would return to where it started.

I tightened the tail servo rod 3 full turns and reset the limits as described earlier in this thread. It's perfect now. No twitch, no return to prev HH.

Thanks!
