Default Will a 6HV motor and mount drop into a 500?

I think the frame spacing is the same between the two birds, but don't know about the spacing for the motor mount slots in the frame. Also, I don't know about main gear mod size and tooth count for the 500, so that I could try to figure out the proper gearing.

If anyone is running this setup or knows for sure if it would work it would be great to hear from you.

Not sure if it will go into a 500. If it does work, that's going to be one sick 500.
Anyhow, I'm gonna try to put one in the Synergy E5(550) when it is released, since I have an extra 540kv compass motor. A 12s 550 should be very interesting too.

I think David Ketlehut told me he used the 6HV motor here with stock 6hv mod 1 pinion.
Tooth count 78, Mod 1 gearing.

I haven't had the chills like that since the first time I watched the video of Tim Jones' Beast.

It fits, just sticks out the bottom a bit. And by looking at it I think there is enough room to run the pinion support too (500 doesn't use one). I have been thinking of doing this when my 3300's die out and going 12s with some 1300s or something 5HV

It fit's! You just have to shave a little bit of the front skid to prevent rubbing on it.

Alternatively you can run stock Atom motor on 8S for some more grunt.

I can tell you, you will Not regret it!
Even @ normal headspeeds it is so much more fun to fly and I get away with 14 degrees of pitch without any bogging.
Next year there are some Speedcups in Holland, of course I am entering with the Atom ;-)

No, no need for it, probably can. I also used the 500 motormount. Only thing you need to do (besides loctite on everything ;-)) is shave some of the front landinggear as the motor will brush on it.
