Yeah, I know tolerances are better for CF blades now. Century sells a 5 blade set, but it's like $160 and they are fiberglass. I just figure that i could get 3 sets of CF blades at a better price and then just balance them together myself.

It's true, you can get carbon fiber blades, then you have to blade match all of them and for a little extra you can get them already blade match and balance. |

I think you will find that almost all of the matched sets are fibreglass. There is nothing wrong with well made GF blades - many people (incl me) have been put off by poorly made GF blades (probably for a little 450), or by the stories of how bad they are for 3D (which may well be true).
I would go with a matched set rather than trying to balance some CF blades, which can be quite painful if they are a few grams different. I am actually running 4x GF blades from HobbyKing on my Seahawk and they are fine. They were about $18 a pair but actually work a fair bit better than the RCA scale blades. Colin

Thanks for the info, guys. Well, that's what I was looking at. It's not that I don't want to use GF blades, but surely, it wouldn't be that bad trying to balance the CF blades and since I can get 3 pair of CF blades for half the price of a matched set of GF blades, I don't mind attempting the balancing. Am I just being hardheaded?
Never mind, I found a set of Rototechs at Century for $149. That's not bad.

The only problem I could foresee with balancing a CF blade that needed a bit of weight is drilling and gluing in a lead weight may not be easy because there is not much to drill into to hold the weight in place - very thin CF shell with foam etc inside. I would be worried that the lead would not stay put with the centrifugal force.
I'm sure plenty people have done it though. Colin

Yeah, for $150, I might just buy the set. I have some of the RCA scale blades rightnow. Going to try them out first.

I dont know if anyone mentioned this already, but MSComposite has CF sets of more than 2, I would assume they are balanced
