Default Tarot 450 build

I'm no stranger to 450's, I like their size pretty much the most because you can fly them anywhere.

I've been looking at the oxy 4 and what not and finally broke down and picked up a Tarot 450 v2 non dfc. Let's see if I can make it work with what I have on hand.

I got their 1860kv motor, the helical 121t and 12t pinion for starters coming with it.

I have some spent but usable kst 215 servos and a dedicated QF tail servo. I have a yep 60a and a talon 35 but almost certain I'll end up using the talon to save a little weight and so it will fit better. I have a crap ton of gens ace 1200mah packs so I'm set there. I also have a new brain 2 from my spare protos 380 kit.

Now all I have to do is wait for it to show up. As long as the thing can work with all tarot parts this should be a fun little heli to just crash over and over flying too low in front of my buddies.

would weight really be that much of an issue with the 60a? or you purposely will crash it and dont want to risk a good esc? haha

The lighter the better, but it all comes down to what will fit for me. I'll see if the 60 fits otherwise the talon 35 will totally get the job done.

whats the weight difference? i plan on putting a 50-60a esc on my 450 build. i flew my friends x3 and was blown away so im going to attempt to mimic that servo quickness and steadyness and play around with different batteries if weight was an issue. if cog was an issue i would mount it on the bottom of the frame which would probably only make it run cooler.

A yep 60 won't fit under the battery in the pro style frame, but a yep 40 will. Hope you're going to run a kbar in it to keep with the clone theme.

Then they are rebranded KST.

KST is an OEM. They make their servos.

To you and me, to the clone hater crew, anything that starts with T is a clone.

Haha as stated I'll be flying a Brain 2 mini.

Flying a clone is nothing new. This build is just to scratch and itch really. I've either owned or flown just about all smaller Helis and I just wanted to play with a 325 Heli again but not spend a ton of money.

I recently flew a friend's 450SEV2 with a Scorpion and HW50. That thing is a little beast for a 3s bird. I wasn't flying it hard by any means but she moves. Constant tic tocs for like 30s+ and it didn't show any slight bogging...even toward the end of the pack. 325mm blades are definitely easier on a power system than 360s

Oh hell yeah and that's why I think it will be fun. My old sport v2 was 6s on 325 and it was a hoot.

Nice vid

Looks like Dave was all out of stock so hopefully I will get it sometime this week!!

Waiting is dangerous, contemplating getting the 460mx and some new kst. But I iniw that I should just wait.

There is something to be said for having a machine that is expected to be crashed... IE a beater!

Beating on the beater (4 min 4 sec)

I don't always fly low, but when I do it's with this machine! and I fly it like I don't care if I get it back!

haha oh you know it!! Nice and low! Ever since I sold my X3 I kind of have been missing the "watch this" heli as I'm a little more careful with my current fleet. That and 325 seems fun to me to revisit.

6s or 3s? Either really a 50a is up to the task.

I'm not sure if i'm going motor shopping or if ill wait to crash and reuse the 450x powerplant.
in the event i want to go motor shopping id do 6s setup...just dont know what motors gonna work well with a lynx stretch kit swinging 350mm mains.
if i swap motors over from 450x im guessing 3s/4s is doable. just really low flight times

if i go 6s i demand 6 mins of time on 350mm blades. what motor gets me that kind of efficiency with kst servos running 7-7.5?

found out this esc has gov so ill be setting that up for the first time ever will probably look for lowish headspeeds i still want pop just calmer. hopefully it gets me the flight times i want..i cant keep doing 3:30 min flights
