Default miniature leaving the hobby

To all my friends, pilots and costumers. Its been a wonderful experience to work in the industry as long as i have.I have worked and seen rc grow from the beginning and also seen pilots come and go. Met a lot of friends in this community, since i've been involved with miniature aircraft for 18 years.I have had the pleasure of working with all the models that miniature has produced over the years.Lot's of memories involving fun flies in the south east coast and of course ircha. Thanks to everyone for making the last 18 years a blast. It's been a pleasure knowing each and everyone of you.

This marks a really sad day for the hobby. Min Air was a pioneering company for RC helicopter flight and their presence will certainly be missed. I was a proud MA pilot and was honored to fly their ships. I wish all the best to the Min Air family going forward.

Spare parts and unresolved clutch issues... An institution in the hobby succumbs to the pressures of the market. A bunch of people out looking for work. But it's the parts that get the posts.

Go to heliproz or another dealer and order up a bunch of spares quick. Otherwise watch the forums, ebay, and local club swap meets to get your fill. Maybe a couple of third party parts vendors will roll in with some alternate part sourcing.

I guess this goes to show that we need to stick with the bigger name brands. like the trex conversions for us gasser guys...... bc this is freaking ridiculous. I have wasted so much money, just like dodgeboy, on a whip that is basically worthless now.

boy am I glad I didn't order that quickdraw pipe I talked to todd about earlier today.....I need to call him and tell him not to make a spare one for when I am ready now.....

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Say it isn't so Jeff

I saw the note on your page about products selling through HeliProz afte the doors close. Will BigSky still make at least some common replacement parts for sale via HeliProz and Ron's by chance? Give some hope to us owners to keep your great birds in the air ?

What a bunch of crap! I have flown always flown MA and have had them for over 20 + years and have always died by MA!! I'm even in the middle of bringing new Life to my old SE! I also wanted to get a newer Bird but I guess I will have to go else where! I realize I'm just Joe Nobody here! But it would have been nice to get more of a notice then a couple weeks!! WTF!?!? :-( :-( :-(

Correct me if I am wrong, but I read the OP's post as the OP is leaving the industry, not MA is shutting down.

After 26 years in business, Miniature Aircraft USA has decided to close its doors. Over the last 26 years we strive to provide the highest quality American made products using American labor, American made CNC machines and American made raw materials. Due to the influx of overseas brands and increase cost of producing models in the USA, we can no longer continue to produce and stay competitive in this market. We can’t fully express our deep gratitude for your business and support. Serving all our loyal team pilots and customers has been nothing but an absolute pleasure.
Our last effective day of business will be February 28, 2014. Until that date, we will continue to accept and process your orders as normal. After February 28th all remaining Miniature Aircraft products will sell through HeliProz, Ron’s HeliProz South and all other MA Dealers.
Please contact us with any questions or comments. Our commitment to providing you the best service and support is still our top priority. Thank you again for a great 26 years.
Sincerely,
Miniature Aircraft

I know but Jeff is probably heartbroken over this right now.. He and a lot of other good folks just went on unemployment. I thought about that after I ranted about parts and feel guilty for what I said now.

Jeff,
If you are reading this best of luck to you and the rest of the MA team, today cant be easy...

Sad to see them close their doors. I wanted a gasser so bad but ended up with the electric that I just wasn't that into and put up for sale. It's a beautiful machine that has been displayed on my shelf. After reading the news, I just ordered more parts for it, and look forward to flying it someday soon.

Best wishes to all the families effected by the closing of the shop.
