WOW! That was incredible! Those are memories he will never forget for sure...doing helis with dad. Awesome...that logical progression mixed with his kid brain has lead to accelerated success. I got my son a 120SR thinking we'd take our time and learn tail in in a few days...he walked out there and within just a few minutes was flying it all over the place. Kid's brains are wired to learn fast...and video games and interested dads perpetuate that lol. Oh, and Enzo is a super cool name too! I think we'll be seeing him with sponsors before long! Outstanding.

Yes, I am very fortunate! This hobby has come along way. I am glad they have the mall helis to get the interest started. This is what got Enzo fired up. Then to have the stability and crash-ability of the mcx2/msr.

Huge thanks to Eflight and the mcpx. This is where he grew the most and is when he start traversing the moves from the sim to a heli. He crashed this heli 50+ times which is what I knew would happen and now he doesn't crash as much!

If I only had this formula when I started, I would have saved thousands!

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!

That is amazing! Took me close to 3 years to hold an inverted hover. 5 weeks is AMAZING!!!

I've been trying to get my little brother into flying, he had about 2 weeks of sim time, with absolutely NO RC experience before hand. Reluctantly I let him hover my BL mcpx.... and what do you know he hovered just fine!

He's nowhere near as young as Enzo, but I was still very proud that he pulled it off.

Congratulations again. Always good to see a father and son spending quality time together. I hope you get to enjoy this hobby together for many, many years. Anything you can do together with your son, will surely mold him into a great man.

Default Update!

So I finally switched Enzo's X5 to his DX6i and he flew 7 batteries today.

He's doing the moves of the half piro flip but not quite stirring yet. Can't believe it took me 2 1/2 years to even start that move!

Sorry the heli is so far in the vid, but he has to go by my rules till I'm confident he can fly lower...

[ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4ClqY2C-2rI&feature=youtube_gdata_player[/ame]

Glad he still has the bug!

Enzo is kicking butt!! He made me want to come home and practice on the simulator. I've been working on that Piro move that he was pulling off so smoothly. So awesome to see him progress so fast. It's one thing watching the video, but man, its really cool watching him in person. Can't wait to see how he continues to progress.

Dodongtisoy, its is pretty cool seeing his progression!

So here is an update from last weekend...

Enzo started off flying my mcpx in the morning and almost perfected figure 8's with banking, nose in fly by's. Then started on the x5 where he started doing back to back half piros. Then by the 5th battery he was doing half piros continuous without stopping the rudder! Stayed in one spot, better than what I could even do. We were all amazed and Enzo knew it.

Toward the end of this battery, he tried to recreate this manuever. Over inputted the rudder, ended up nose in and froze... Wrong input and this is what is left.

I've already got the heli apart and it looks to be over a $300 crash, ouch... 1st big crash and he is crushed... I knew this day would come sooner or later...

Default Progress!

So here is an update. Really proud of this kid and happy to share this hobby with him.

Here is a vid of his Bday. Suprised him with a new canopy. He's been flying the same beat up one the whole time.
Happy 11th Bday, Toucan Canopy! (1 min 31 sec)

Here is his first flight with new canopy.

This is the first time I saw this thread.

Enzo,

First thing that comes to my mind is

Keep up the great flying, keep it smooth and safe. You could be sponsored or a pro pilot some day.

Kudos to you, Dad.

Unbelievable.

You can get him sponsored and you can finance your hobby that way dude

My kid's only 4, trying to get him hocked on RC car then hopefully we can progress to helicopters down to road, I would be SOOO proud if my son could do half of what Enzo doing at the same age. Just beeing able to bring him to the field and both enjoying ourself would have been a great thing indeed.
