I do not know Castle ESC's...

But you might want to check your system with the Vbar Gov disabled...

See is the power system holds up without a gov first...

I've played with CC ESC but not together with vBar. From what I know the way to set CC ESC endpionts on the TX, it doesn't apply to vBar governor. The endpoints should now be set with vBar not TX. To do this, go to Gov II setup menu. Turn on Throttle Servo Adjustment.

CAUTION: Once Throttle Servo Adjustment is activated vBar will send throttle signal to ESC base ONLY on throttle stick position, REGARDLESS of throttle hold or throttle curve setting. Make sure to have motor disengaged from main gear and throttle stick at full low position before turning on Throttle Servo Adjustment.

Once you have Throttle Servo Adjustment turned on, calibrate CC ESC endpoints with the motor off and max throttle values in vBAR instead of TX endpoints. Note that you'll need to re-visit and fine-tune motor-off value once you have the governor set up. You want the LOWEST possible motor-off value that doesn't give you delay when you turn throttle hold off to spool up. This will give the least kick when the motor starts.

So the gov gets to your set head speed but does not hold it well? Set Vgov gain to low value about 15, if its set to a high value governor performance will not be good.. If machine is bogging in tick tocs increase cyclic add value under gov professor hat. Also may need to increase collective add and collective dynamic.

I use the VBar Silverline governor with both Castle ICE and EDGE ESC's. The EDGE's have the extra rpm wire, and the ICE's use the HW rpm sensors.

I setup both ESC models the same way, and all five of my VBar governors work flawlessly.

1) I first update the Castle ESC's to the latest or most appropriate firmware.
2) I then set the ESC's to External Governor right from the get go. No need to calibrate the transmitter Travels/ATV's using End Points mode, as was the case with previous firmware versions.
3) Decide whether or not to check the Autorotation bailout box on the Castle software. I check it.
4) Calibrate transmitter throttle channel (a) reverse, (b) subtrim, and (c) travels using the VStabi Transm. tab to get -100/0/100% on the ESC/Throttle bar with the transmitter on low/mid/high throttle stick positions respectively. Transmitter throttle curves should be linear (0-25-50-75-100) during calibration.
5) Set up VStabi Gov. I tab appropriately
6) Gov. II tab. This is where things can get tricky.

Decide whether or not to check the Autorotation Bailout Mode and/or the Idle during Bailout boxes. I check the Autorotation Bailout Mode box, but I leave the Idle during Bailout box unchecked.

For calibration, you'll need to be able to power the VBar and the ESC separately. The VBar and transmitter get powered first, and the ESC gets powered last.

1) Motor needs to be connected to ESC to hear beep sounds
2) Power up the VBar and transmitter.
3) Connect the VBar to the computer and run the VStabi software
4) Go to the Setup >> Gov. II tab
5) Set the Max. Headspeed, Gear Ratio, and Sensor configuration
6) Turn "ON" the VStabi Throttle Servo adjustment
7) Bring the slider or type -50% for Motor off and 50% for Max Throttle
8) Verify that the transmitter throttle curve is linear (0-50-100)
9) Bring transmitter throttle stick all the way up
10) Power up the Castle ESC
11) Type or mover slider of Max Throttle up towards 140% until you hear the beep. All 5 of my setups end up around 90%
12) Give it a few seconds for the ESC to configure this. You will hear a melody.
13) Bring the throttle stick all the way down
14) Type or move the Motor off slider towards -140% until you hear the beep. All 5 of my setups end up around -119%.
15) Give it a few seconds for the ESC to configure itself. You will hear a melody.
16) You are done calibrating at this point
17) Set the transmitter throttle curves to flat curves, and see what head speed RPM you get on the VStabi software.

So you check "Autorotation bailout" box in both the Castle & VBar? I was always told one or the other.

I check both boxes. I have not tried checking only one of the boxes, so I don't know how checking either box alone would affect performance.

I think you need to check both if you want idle bailout option.
