Hi Guys,

I was looking at Tareq's facebook page and he had 2 goblins in a picture asking which do you like better?? when I looked closely at the blue Gobby I noticed it had like a lower profile landing gear and the look to be the traditional style with tubes?

Yeah, I like those skids.

What does Tareq have to do with Skydive Dubai? I've seen that on some of his other stuff too.

Their listed as FC3 or Urukay skids, but they seem to fit on the 700 Competition so ill be getting a set!

Would they fit the original G700 too?

They use the same plastic mounting method as the newer plastic struts do, and if I remember correctly the pre comp frames were a little thicker and wouldn't fit down into the slots on the skid struts. This came up a while back when guys started to convert over to the plastic skids only to discover this issue, but I saw some post that they were able to make it work by removing a little material in the skid slots.

I just ordered a pair form Rotorquest, but they are a little pricey for we guys in the U.S. with the high cost of Canadian shipping. $75 CAD when ordered down to about $65 USD as the actual cost once PP did the conversion. Hopefully Heli Direct will stock them soon. They aren't even showing on the SAB site.

IMHO, the standard skids look way, way better. They are part of the reason the Goblin looks different from the others.

Agree the original skids are apart of what makes a goblin unique and look great! But the new skid being so low make it look bad a$$ (reminds me when the 700DFC came out with the low skids that's what made me purchase one lol)

I think I will buy a set but they are pretty pricey $50.00AUD

It appears they serve an actual purpose. They are for the Urukay and F3C competition flight. They remove the forward tilt the Goblins have and make it sit level and lower.

Maybe this assist with some of the precision moves that are required from a takeoff or landing standpoint? I know they have many precision things they do while in air, with autos, etc, but I'm not familiar enough with F3C to know if there are specific takeoff or landing sequences involved.

And damn-it if I didn't just discover that Heli Direct has them in the U.S. listed under the Urukay parts after I've already ordered them from Canada with $20+ shipping

looks like with the new skids you loose abit of the forward angle thus the tail come near the ground but then looks wider

That's the only thing that's preventing me from getting these skids.. Looks are awesome and gives the heli an awesome stance. It looks wider too so tip over on landings are minimized. But the tail blade ground clearance will surely damage the tail blade tips when taking off and landing on grassy fields.

Mine came in today, and although they are lower than stock, the instructions show a two hole mounting choice with the frame, so you can choose for the model to sit dead level, or with a forward rake to keep the tail a little higher, depending on which front frame hole you use.

Mine is running 630C frames, and only has one hole choice, but its very simple to drill a new hole in the frame allowing the front to mount higher on the frame. I did this, and it gives the heli a 3* forward tilt and a little more tail clearance.

Saw the skids on the Kyle Stacy edition G700 and definitely like the stock skids better.(even though these are lower)

Here are a few terrible cell phone shots, but you get the idea and can see there is still some forward rake if you want it there. All I did was mount the struts and slide the tubes in, so not fully installed yet. I plan on shooting some better outdoor shots when its complete.

I really like the wider stance, and its not really that much wider than stock when I sit the standard LG in front of the new ones. The fact that the heli sits lower makes it appear wider than it really is.

Converting all the 700's to this. I bounce a lot of autos and these look like a solid improvement.
