Default Washout hub

I used the hub that came with the FBL kit. It has a grub screw where the original (MSH51021) does not. The problem is the threads in this plastic unit all got stripped...the one for the grub screw and both washout/mixing arms.

The only washout unit available for purchase is MSH51021 which doesn't even have set screw hole. This whole unit doesn't seem to see a lot of load and all three screws seem to be holding well but if you turn them they will, to no end.

I wonder if it is OK to fly in this condition. Plus, I do not see how I can replace it where the only way to get my hands on one is to buy the whole FBL kit!!!

Any ideas?

The low hub is for stretch. There is a chance of main blades on low hub hitting the tail blades. Plus that's a $45 solution to stripped plastic.

Is there a picture of the assembled low hub I can look at?

You could drill a new one on the opposite side slightly smaller than the grub screw and just insert the screw allowing it to cut new threads into the block, or use some CA glue and fill the stripped hole then retap with the screw. The block is just a swash follower now and does not ride up and down , so you dont need to torque the screw down so hard to cause it to strip.

The low hub doesnt use a washout, the arms are mounted directly to the head. I think I may have a hub I can give you if it's the correct one. PM me if you want.

The part number for the hub I have is MSH40083, let me know if this is what you need.

Mine did the same thing. Honestly, I don't think there was ever really any material for the threads to grab. A little CA and it pulled up ok

MSH40xxx would be a mini protos part... thanks anyway.

Going with the CA solution for now.

Sorry I gave you the wrong part number. The one I have came out of the fbl upgrade kit. The kit number is MSH51115. Can't find the specific number for the hub but the kit is for the 500.
