Default ECX 1/18 Rukus - 750NiMh

I've just ordered a Rukus Monster truck and I see it comes with a NiMH battery - I wondered if anyone else had one and whether they can tell me how long (roughly) you can run the car for on a single charge.

I appreciate it may depend on how/where you drive it. I'm really just trying to work out how many extra I should get to ensure it's good for 20 mins of fun for my son. Also the charging time is something like 9hrs are there faster chargers or is this just what you have to deal with?

I have a 1/16 revo, and I imagine they run the same time. I get about 8 min out of a 1200 mah battery. I would think you will get atleast that on pavement or sand. Grass may be a different story.

As for chargers, yes there are faster chargers, it comes down to current and max charge rate for the battery.

For NiMH, I typically charge at .5C or .4 amps for your batteries. the lower the current when changing NiMh the better the charge is and the easier on the battery. you can get a NiMh charger for $50 lots of places that will do what you need probably.

I have the same Rukus...I'd say 20 mins is about the max run time if you are careful...get another battery to be safe

You can buy a great charger that will charge in less than an hour for $50-75 USD
