Default Leap 450 blades on the new Hyper 400

Just purchased a Hyper 400 and found the blades had so much pitch it was causing overheating of the esc's and puffing my 4 cell lipos. Felt like it had very little power and actually shut down a couple of times. Being an owner of a Leap I decided to drill out 4 of my spare blades from it and also had to find 4 spacers because their hubs are much thinner than the Zeal blades the Hyper comes with. Well......problem solved! Now she flies for 5 minutes on a 4 cell 2200mah 30c lipo, as opposed to the 2 minutes I was getting with the original blades but also getting cooler electronics and just a warm lipo with zero puffing. It has just as much power as my leap and am enjoying it. I know this is the Leap section but just thought I would share this here for the people that may buy the hyper and run into similar problems. They both are great little quads. The leap blades are great performers and with a little modification can be used on other platforms. I do have to admit that my Leap feels way more stable and refined in the air. The Hyper just doesn't let you relax and keeps you on your toes. The Leap is much smoother and more stable in the air and really just a pleasure to fly.

Cant you just adjust the PIDS on the hyper to achieve the flight characteristics that you desire?

Yep - Leap props are better than other 3d props available
used them on invertix setup also - but are more expensive.

Cheap option is to use HK 3d props - but they tend to explode in midair in WOT

PRODUCT ID: 329000335-0
Flight time is shorter than with Leap blades - and they are brittle like glass.
