Default Microbeast plus. Will r3/rsw work?

Hey guys. I am brand new to jeti and I have a huge learning curve ahead of me. I have a ds-16, an r3/rsw rx and was wanting to know if there would be any issues setting it up on a microbeast plus on a new 450L build? I know it has no telemtery with this rx but i just want to get it flying to begin to use the jeti before i invest in a rex rx for my bigger models.

Should this setup be able to work? Any advice for a new jeti guy on this project? I want to make the leap to jeti as I know it is awesome. Its hard for me to get away from spektrum tho as it has been rock solid for me and very simple. But yeah this bird will be my first go at the jeti system and quite honestly I don't even know where to start! But yeah.. will microbeast plus work with an r3/rsw rx?

Thank you for any advice or input.

Yeah, the R3 will work fine, and don't be fooled, that receiver still has telemetry, and all the functions of Jeti.

The difference between that and a REX is that it only has one telemetry/feature port, so if you were using a flybarless system with Jeti integration (Spartan, Brain, Spirit, etc) then you would have to use that port to connect the FBL.

The microbeast won't need that port though, it's going to be using UDI to connect to the receiver, so you'll still have the telemetry port free, and the R3 has receiver strength and receiver voltage telemetry built in.

If you're totally new to Jeti you might find my beginners guide handy, it was written for Jeti and Spartan, but the vast majority of the guide is just walking you through setting up your first heli model on a Jeti radio:

Myxiplx I have to applaud your guide.

I had never looked at it since I do not consider myself a beginner with Jeti but there is always something new to learn. Case in point, I never knew that you could pick which channel you wanted for range check.

I just wanted to add that in the Rcgroup forum main Jeti thread, it has come to light that Auto might not be best to pick for consistent frame rate. Just a repost here:

Quote:
Recent test show that Auto does not produce consistent frame rate .
For digital servos use set output period to 10ms.

For digital servo installations, I use and recommend fixed 10ms on the RX or CB. I see nothing good in AUTO from the data.

If you use analog servos, PERIOD=17ms
I have used Auto myself for a long time with no ill effects but I have now switched to 10ms since all my fleet is digital. Of course if you have a mix of digital and analog than Auto is still the only choice
