Default B400 fbl question

Ok so I think I know the answer to my own question from reading back into the forums, but I just want to make sure I know what I'm getting in to. I have a stock blade 400 aside from a 35 amp esc out of a 4503d, and a ds76t tail servo. I would like to do the good ol' tarot/zyx conversion and wanted to make sure that it was a drop in replacement like the 4503d is(aside from bigger ball ends) and if my stock servos will work. Thanks in advance!

I too am in the process of making this switch. If I'm correct you will also need to cut about 2 mm off the top of the main shaft.

If you use one of these 450FL rotor heads from CNC no modification to the main shaft is required or needed. I use one and its a direct drop on just had to change the balls on the swash to 450 size. As far as the servos I couldn't tell you. I changed mine to Hitec 5055MG's.

Drop in replacement that works great:
Blade BLH4399 Aluminum Fly-Bar-Less/Flybarless Conversion Set: for Blade 450 3D

Pull the old shaft and head out and replace with this and set it up with your Beast or what ever you like.

Ok thanks, are the blade grips the same as original meaning i would still have to use shims if i use carbon fiber or fiberglass(non "blade" blades)?

I am in the process of doing the exact same thing you are asking about Nick. I have all my parts together just waiting for a few free hours to get everything done. I have the Tarot 450 FBL head that Rusty linked you too and it is a drop in replacement, super easy. I leveled my swashplate with the new head attached and am waiting to get the wiring done. I bought the Tarot ZYX gyro and a castle creations BEC (using the stock ESC) to get everything working right. Bee posted a wiring diagram in my thread "Weird Rotation" if you need a diagram on how to get the ZYX wired (though it will be slightly different because of my BEC). I actually had some spare 400 ball links. So I switched those out with the 450 ones included with the tarot head so half my swash balls are 400 and half 450. I hope this doesn't cause any problems I just happened to have two spare 450 swashplate balls around and didn't want to order more. I have a new set of blades on the way, a new canopy, Trex 500 canopy mounts, and a hand full of other things coming this week to get everything done. I'll post some pictures this week. Best of luck to you.

So the mainshaft that comes with the BLH4399 kit works on the B400?
I compared the 2 mainshafts and thought I would have to modify the B400 shaft.

It happens, especially when you see exactly the question you're dealing with.

I'm running 450x parts in my b400 conversion. I didn't see this kit available when I was doing it. I would have saved a little had I gone that way. But it is nice now to share head parts between my 450x and b400.

So was this kit a direct drop in?
Did you modify the main shaft or anything?

Thanks

The b450 and b400 shafts are a little longer than the 450x shaft so I switched to the 450x shaft when I did the conversion.
