Here's where i placed my CC85HV....

Does it get enough airflow inside the frame like that? I guess the answer is yes, but I'm using the stock Align 100A ESC, so I am concerned about cooling.

I agree mounting inside the frame is ideal from an asthetics POV.

I have a 3 fan cooling system mounted internally. 1 on the motor, 1 on the ESC and 1 one the BEC so heat is no problem for me.

My lighting and cooling systems have there own flight battery so not to draw from my flight packs

One thing ESP builders should note:

The bell cranks on the ESP model are 180 degrees opposite to those in Finless Bob's video, so his guidance on servo directions is therefore 180 degrees opposite too.

Please be aware that Finless hasn't not done a 600 ESP build as of yet, the Video is the build of a 600 CF version.

How much does that cooling setup add to your "all up" weight? Do you have CG balance issues with all your batteries up front? I'm really liking your layout.

My lift off weight is 12.17 lbs, CG is dead nuts on. the cooling system weighs next to nothing neither does the lighting system.. the 3S1P battery that powers it helps to balance the heli

A "tail safe" for the T Rex 600
I fly at a grass field and constantly worry about damaging the tail blades or the torque tube gears when the tail bumps the ground. Cracking the tail fin itself is also something I worry about.

So I replaced the 600 ESP stock fin with a 700 fin, which is made of thicker CF and has a longer tip so it will hit the ground earlier. Unfortunately, the point is also sharper, so I wanted to reduce the chance that it will snag on the grass or furrow into the soil dangerously. I've seen some balls on carbon rods, but I dug through my spares bin and worked out this easy solution.

Not sure if this has been done or not.... but it works..

I installed a 3rd bearing block into my ESP problem was is that it is a match for the upper blocks 19mm X 10mm X 5mm, the lower bearing being 17mm X 9mm X 5mm posed a problem. being that it was not going to fit correctly.

simple solution was to dismantle the 19 X 10 X 5 bearing take the outer casing and machine the ball bearing track down till it slid over the 17 X 9 X 5 bearing as a spacer sleeve.

just pop it into the block mount and bingo all good in the world!!

I am setting up a 600 esp and was wanting to know about the servo arm that is on the inside of the frame the one that contrals the swash in the front of the helicopter. it rides on the bell crank with a set screw how do you set that up do you tighen the screw when the arm is level or what

The set screw can be tightened down anywhere on the shaft, doesn't have a flat right?
If it has a flat, then tighten it onto the flat. Otherwise, you should find that it doesn't matter.
What we want is for the push-pulls to be equal and not too long and not too short, and squared up when the servo is centered. I see no harm in using some subtrim.

For the left and right side cyclic push pulls, it is easier to sight along the holes of the Align servo wheels to get the push-pulls squared up.

Just buy a 19 X 9 x 5 bearing and all is well. Or you can use the stock 600E/N parts for the bottom bearing block.

At last inquiry BOCA does not have a yellow sealed no lube bearing in that size configuration available.

Also I don't know if a N is a metal block, E version I researched was a plastic assembly I assume it is not and prefer the metal over plastic, plus had the parts on hand.

keep those TT bearings guys!
Im not sure if anyone posted this yet, but the bearing on the TT is the same as the bearings in the main grips.
I just cut the tube sanded the cut smooth and popped off the bearing. Simple.
