Default Ballistic 700 to Ballistic 635

Hi, I have a Rave Ballistic 700 already. I bought a second one.

Can I convert the 700 to a 635 ? Change the boom and torque tube. Buy the 635 main blades. Would it be too heavy ?

Or just run 635 blades ? CG Issue ?

I have a Kontronik 120HV ESC, Scorpion 4525-520 Ultimate Motor, Revolectrix 4400 mAh, 6S Batteries.

Its not a problem to convert the 700 to a 635. You are correct in using the 635 boom, torque tube, and boom supports with 625 blades.
I run 4000 ma Spyder batteries or you can also try 3700.

Can I use Scorpion 4525-520 Ultimate Motor and 700 frames ?

Not sure what to do because the used 700 I just bought the right side frame is cracked. Buy another 700 frame or 2 - 635 frame halves ?

As far as I know the frames are the same except the 635 frames have a second set of holes drilled for the battery tray bumper. Moving the tray further forward about 10 mm.
The motor spacing is the same, so that motor will be fine to use.

The 635 frames are a bit thinner in areas as the holes in the frame are bigger in some places to save weight. I don't think it'll make much difference though so I'd say just swap the boom, tt, and supports to the 635 ones and forget any other minor differences.

One of the CJY team members at my field flies a 635 with 700 frames. He started flying it as a prototype, and has not bothered to update it.

It might be heavy with the Scorpion 4525-520, we are using 4225-550 size motors in some of the 635's at our field (there are 4 of them). The 3600-3700 size battery seems optimal.

I am going to replace the frame anyway so I decided to get the 635 frames, boom etc. I am going to put the 4035-560 motor in it and use my new Revolectrix 4400 mah 6S batteries. They are fairly compact for the capacity and weigh 695 grams each.

Ordered the 635 frames and the parts I need to build it as a 635 !

I bought a Kontronik Pyro 700-513 off Gimpy Golden. Should be a nice light powerfully setup. Custom wound 700-52 single strand of 1.25 copper wire. Similar to competition series.

The 4035-560 is 60 grams heavier and I am trying to keep it fairly light.

I will use a Kontronik 700-520 Motor, Kontronik Power Jive 120 HV, internal BEC at 4.8 volts, Futaba BLS251 Tail Servo, BD3SX FBL System, Futaba BLS253 Cyclic Servos, Futaba SBus Reciever and Revolectrix 4400 mah Batteries. CY 625 V2 blades, 95 CY Tail blades. I just ordered a new custom Sick Canopy for it. SICK !!!

Hi Freeskiken,

I checked at the field Saturday, and one of the CJY team guys is flying a Ballistic 700 with 635 boom, torque tube, and boom supports, with Radix 625 blades. It is very powerful, and doesn't seem to notice the weight of the larger motor. He is using a HeliJive 120HV.

Thanks for the info. I am going to use the Kontronik 700 motor, and the Kontronik 120 HV.

May have to keep the Scorpion 4525-520 motor. Who knows may put it in later some day for more power or I can switch it back to a 700.
