mcmaster-carr (https://www.mcmaster.com/) has every conceivable size ziptie one may ever dream of.

I ordered a set of orange ones back when I owned an Outrage heli and still have about 200.

They seem to be about 5 1/2 inch. Home depot has 2mm but they are only 4 inch.
I cant seem to find them longer 5 1/2+

I use to get micro 2mm ties that are called low profile, the end slides into the clip like a belt into a buckle, not through the back.
They where the best because it didn't have that bump from the connection. But the smallest I see now are 2.5mm and they are short. Grrrrrr.

Panduit makes Belt-Ty (brand) but they are short.

You won't be disappointed

Less pricey here:

To fish the lace into some of the more remote locations, use a zip tie that has the end cut off and a small slit cut into it that the lace is held by.

To cut the slit, a fingernail clipper works nicely.

Or a V cut into one end of the zip tie to push the lace into an area to lace it through as needed.

The black polyester is the one I ordered. I've been practicing my knot tying. Thanks for the tip on the zip tie to fish the lace.

That stuff really holds a knot well!

Sewing thread, floss, the inner strings of 550 cord, fish line, zip ties, all work.
Whatever is readily available.

The flat waxed lace is purpose made for wiring

I do enough work at home to justify buying a spool.

Where I work and where I volunteer, it is provided.

If you would like to try some, I can mail a few yards in an envelope.
PM your USPS address.

Cheers,
Mike

Default Another place to find zip ties

My local NAPA autoparts store has a whole shelf of various sizes. Since they are for automobile use, I'm guessing you won't find cheapy zip ties. You can also find various types of wire, including silicon sheathed wire.

Thanks TowPilot for the tip! I see this as much cleaner then zip ties.

Found some lacing tape at a nice price. Ordered a roll, should last a lifetime.

Also found videos of guys using this. I seems finer.
I may try this also.

Be generous with the length cut to make the knot and consider that what is left over as the means used to apply the knot where it was needed.

Each knot will take longer to put in place and tie if the length cut is too short, you can always shorten the length being worked with if it was cut too long to work with.

Usually only a couple places are difficult to reach, either during a build or after a repair.

Be imaginative since the wax makes the lace somewhat hold a shape, atomic's hemostat, a wire loop, air pressure, paper clip, long narrow needle nose pliers, Q-tip, virtually anything that can reach into that area can be used to help position the lace to continue the knot.

I just wanted to chime in and say that I ordered these and am extremely satisfied with their quality - narrow, long and strong.

And with 1000 of them - a lifetime supply. Thanks yakky!

Glad you like them! Now that I have this big bag, I find myself using these tiny guys all over the place.. not sure mine is going to last a lifetime.

McMaster has 0.1" wide up to 8" long but these 5.5" long 2mm wide one look like a good deal.

I was in Singapore a couple weeks ago and visited RotorHobby and found these so I picked up 3 packs. I can't vouch for the quality but I bought them because of their size.

My favorite tiny zip ties are these... I believe someone linked to them earlier in the thread. Oh and that price of $0.88/100 is correct. I usually order 10 bags of them whenever I'm ordering stuff from Newark.
