Default 2011 NATs Great Job Erich!

Wow, time goes by fast. It was only two years ago that we have this thread when Erich won Class III in 2009 NATs.

https://www.helifreak.com/showthread.php?t=152058

Fast forward to this week, Erich did it again in the new AMA Expert Class. There is no reason not to have another interview with the expert!

Q1: Can you describe since 2009, what kind of improvement in technology that has the greatest positive impact on precision flying? (I.e. Electric vs. Nitro, Better gyros, Radio Transmitter Technology, etc.) While on the same subject, tell us what’s being changed on your contest models?

Q2: Nowadays newbies tend to try precision flying by means of using RC simulator software. But without real life elements (Dead clam wind setting) and lost of depth perception, do you think it make sense at all? How much time you spent on RC simulator?

Q3: Since 2009, have you make changes to your practice routine? Do you still practice the same amount of hours? What is the percentage of time you spent on Hovering vs. Up stair manoeuvres? Have you gone trying F3C manoeuvres yet?

Q4: With Kyosho ending the Caliber lines of helicopter, have you consider changing your contest machines to different brand? If so, what do you have in mind and why?

Thanks for your time

Jay

Hey, thanks guys! It was great getting back up to the Nats. I had to take a year off due to a move and changing jobs...

I will be glad to answer your questions in the near future. Check back in a few days. I had to leave IRCHA early to make a flight to DC for a convention.

Cheers,
Erich
