I have my gains cranked to the full-clockwise stop lock (happens at the "5-o-clock" position on the pots) and it's OK, but I figured it would have some extra room to go "too far"...so I feel like there should be more throw in it. I don't get any weird behavior, but it's strange to me to have them positively maxed out and only get gain numbers of 15 and 17.

What are other people seeing for the high/low gain settings, if you max your pots out or min them out? Is the range that I'm seeing normal? It seems like a problem, and at 12-o-clock they felt WAY too low -- drifting all over the place, barely flyable, etc.

mine seems to be flying better with 2.0 no bobbing in fff, but gains show weird as well.

I am sorry to admit this but after taking my 3GX off my 600 and putting it on my 500...I can see the backwards drift. I will lean it in forward and I can watch it slowly rotating backwards. I havent noticed it affecting me in flight but its painfully obvious in hover. I believe it has something to do with the link as mine are all messed up, I threw this thing together yesterday in about 15-20min. I believe it might have something to do with not getting the arms at a perfect 90 then the phasing of the arms are out of sync causing a drift, because I have a back and right drift. No so much of an actual drift, but a slow rotation.

Just to add to the pot, I'm also having the back drift. I'm using it on a 450pro v2. I have not updated my 550 and i don't think i will until i hear that this has been fixed.

Also ! I don't know if this has anything to do with the new version but it has been acting overall weird, on my last flight it all of a sudden started shifting to the right on flight. I almost had to go full left aileron to keep it leveled, luckly no crash i was able to land. Once i landed i noticed that one of the servos (pitch or aileron, cant remember) was half way down while heli was on even plane. Rebooted the and it went back to normal.

crossing my fingers for an update..., aside from the issues, i do like the overall flight feeling of the new version when all works..

I went through my 500 set up and redid the whole head. After redoing it my linkages have changed a lot, I suggest everyone having a drift issue to go through and recenter the servo arms without the linkages on then adjust linkage legenth to level the swash, check with pitch gauge on all 4 points. This will ensure all arms on the same phase. Mechanical setup is paramount with the FBL units.

I'm new to helis and have just started flying the 500EFL after learing to fly on a 450 with flybar. I have upgraded to v2.0. I guess I'm one of the lucky ones (or don't know any better) but my 500 was locked solid in in all axis even in a stiff 15 mph wind. I was pretty impressed over how stable a 500 flybarless is over a 450 with flybar.

I did notice an issue during pitch pumps. The tail seems to shudder a bit when I cycle the throttle. It then normalizes when I move throttle to normal (around mid stick). Which setting should I play with to fix this? I don't think its rudder gain since I don't have tail wag in normal hovering. My head speed is fine since I have a flat curve at 90% in idle up. Thanks.

Rudder lock gain, you can only get to it with the USB and software. Take it down 5 and see if it helps.

Default 3gx acceleration setting

i would like some more collective "POP" ive already got my dampening set to 0 and my acceleration set to 50 but ive heard its reccomended that i run a direct power source to do that. i am however running a Seprerate Castle Creations 10Amp BEC set to 6v and i was wondering if that was sufficient to Crank up the acceleration or what do they mean by seperate power source

I have a forward drift, never noticed it with V1.2, only V2.0.

When first taking off and just hovering its fine, hovers hands off, But after throwing it about for a minuet or two then coming into land and hovering I am getting a forward drift. The 3GX is facing the tail, servo wires facing front.
The people getting backwards drift , witch way is your 3GX facing ?

Making sense now, on my 500 wires are facing back and it drifts back. My 600 wires were facing forward but I never noticed a drift, maybe because it was forwards.

I have a 600E (Non-pro) that i just upgraded with the DFC head and 3GX. Any suggestions for settings? Seems the 2.0 software doesn't give you standard model settings.

Just adjust the gain pots on the unit, and increase the roll and flip rate in the software to your liking.

Easy as pie but too many people are overthinking the darn thing.

What do you guys mean by "servo wires face front"?

The manual is pretty clear in stating that the Sensor arrow must point forward.

That would mean that the servo wires plug in tail side and facing back.

The arrow marker on the 3GX should be pointing along the Z axis (I think thats the right axis). If you have the wires facing toward the front you just reverse the rudder, thats why they included that option. The only set in stone mounting guidelines are that it is either face up or face down, you cannot mount it on the side like the Beast.
