Default Show us your favorite CB100's

Here are my two CBz

The blue one is a 2436 rx with the turbo ace 91416 upgrade on the main motor and the 2.9g on the tail.

The yellow one is a 2605a rx and uses the 2801pro tx. It has a turbo ace 51416 outrunner main motor upgrade and a 2.9g tail

Both heli's have the Xtream landing skids/blades and both have solid carbon fiber rod for the tail boom.
The only other upgrades i want to do would be changing all my connectors and batteries to micro deans and changing all motor connections to gold connecters.

I'm not sure which one is my favorite they both always need a little attention, but the 2605a seems to be the most reliable and the blue one looks the coolest... Both are super fun to fly.

notice the heat shrink on the landing skids to make them black

Let me know what you think and post some pics of your CB100...

Nice which motor do you like the most? I'm going to upgrade mine with a new main motor but not certain about soldering to the ESC so I'm more tempted toward the 14000kv

the 14000kv is a fine choice. Its cheaper and easy to install. The HP05-2 has more power for sure. i didn't solder it to the esc though i soldered it to a connector (http://www.wowhobbies.com/walkerabru...connector.aspx). although my soldering skills have gotten better in the last two months since i started this hobby. I'm still not sure I'm ready to solder to the esc. Just incase i want to swap motors it makes it easier to use a connector. Also if the motor is spinning the wrong way all you need to do is flip the connector around. I also just ordered some gold connectors (http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...idProduct=8878) and i'm going to replace all motor to esc connections to gold connectors and all other connections to micro deans. I'll see how that goes and let you know.

2 months ago I had no idea I would be so into these things. The gold connectors is a good idea, i might do that too. I bought a new soldering iron and I think I'm over the trauma of getting the 2.9g on now that I'm ready for a new soldering challenge...direct to ESC is just too much though so thanks for the connector tip.

Connecting it directly to the esc might be more efficient and really not anymore difficult than soldering those tiny wires together. I just like being able to change things around with out having to solder and desolder all the time and the gold connectors seem like they would work better than the stock ones. I still havent taken the time to put them on, but I will once i get bored and feel like doing some modding. Then maybe they might make a difference...

Let me say if you are going to buy a new motor the 14000 will fly more like your stock motor will. the HP05 definitely has a different feel to it and is much lighter than the stock and 14000.

Hi
The braces are for a 4G6, got them here (Clubheli)
http://www.clubheli.com/Walkera-4G64...20_p_2332.html

The horizontal fin was a little expensive at $10 but it was the only one I could find that fit the boom, got it same place

Happy flying

Thanks, I already bought the fin from club heli but was going to use fishing wire. I'll get the 4g6 struts instead.

Here it is. The struts tend to dislodge from the horizontal stabilizer during a crash but maybe thats a good thing as something gives without the boom breaking.

For anyone else attempting this the tips I have for you is to cut the struts to a length that wont interfere with the tail rotor. Also drill 3/64" holes into the bottom of the rear landing gear to screw in one end of the struts. I used screws that I had from a Lama2 spare screw set. Heat shrink from Radio Shack is used to hide the wires between the horizontal stabilizer and the main body, then they run underneath the horizontal stabilizer. A new 2.9g was attached once I finished the struts but that's for another thread.

Default V100D01 with Struts

A V100 with a 2.9g is a beast, the speed it can change directions is amazing. I'm relearning to fly all over again. The rotors strike each other at startup until the lift from the main rotors pulls them up an away from the tail rotor. When I get my diamond dremel cutter I'll make a longer tail from the solid CF rods I have to solve the problem.

Nope, thought myself it's MIA at first, but at closer look it's the better Jason Jetski Tattooface Design carbon landing skid.

Why not make the struts yourself, Hamish?
I have instructions on my cb100 mod thread.

Well its all done now. I'll try your way on the D03. I have been replacing the actual struts with hand cut 1mm CF rods as needed. Its hard to cut without getting some splitting at the end. I have some diamond tipped dremel cutting discs on the way from WOW so I can make the solid boom so it might also make the struts cut cleaner. HP05-2 is on the way too

The diamond tipped disks are what I use for almost everything. They cut cf without splintering, just be careful to do all cuts outdoors and wear a MASK!
