Default Trex 600 Owner to be needs advice...

Hi all,

I just ordered an electric Trex 600 airframe & I'm in need of some advice on servos (all round), gyro, blades, lipos, & receiver. I have a GY401 on a smaller heli - could I use that?

I must add I'm on a bit of a budget (Trex600 & budget in the same sentence ).

Also I have a DX6i & was thinking of buying a 7chnl RX in preparation to getting a DX7 - could I use the DX6i on a 7chnl RX until I get a DX7? This is because I was thinking of using the spare channel as a camera trigger for some AP every now & again.

Thanks for any advice & not to mention putting up with the dumb newbie questions.

I suggest you go 12s. The 600 is straining on 6s. Cost difference is slight performance difference is huge.

Servos are pretty wide open. I'm upgrading mine to the 8717 now, but it's been running 9252s for a long time.

The 401 will do ok, not great, but if your wallet is straining, it'll hold up ok.

Get a DX7.

A lot of this stuff can be found used in the B/S/T forums.

Nice1 bud

thanks for the advice. Would some DS821's do the job - seen some on ebay cheap, dunno if they'd be any good?

Yeah a DX7 would be real nice & I'm gonna get one but does anyone know if I can fly a DX6i with a 7chnl RX in the meantime while I save to get a DX7?

12s packs, I'm guessing that'd be a 6s2p - or am I getting this wrong? Just used to simple little 3cell packs, so please give me the dunce's hat & explain, thanks.

I'm not familiar with the 821, you'll need to do your own research.

I have a friend who had the DX6, he hated it and I found it very difficult to help him.
Not that the DX7's menus are great, but they are way better than the 6. The x9303 is much better. I like.

12s would be 12s1p or two 6s packs in series. I use the 2650 ($50 ea)
